Espinosa de Juarros auctions 31,448 cubic meters of sand from its quarry

The Neighborhood Board of Espinosa de Juarros has called an auction for the disposal of the natural sand stockpiles accumulated in its quarry, a total volume of 31,448 cubic meters (58,179 tons) with a starting price of 465,532 euros. The tender notice is published in Official Bulletin of the Province of Burgos number 153, of August 14, 2026, within the Local Administration section (reference BOPBUR-2026-03372). The document, signed by the deputy mayor Manuel Crespo on July 31, 2026, opens a period of fifteen calendar days for the submission of bids.
The transaction is processed by auction procedure, with a base tender budget of 465,532 euros that may be improved upwards and on which VAT payment is not included. For the local entity, the sale represents an extraordinary income derived from a municipal asset; for companies in the aggregates and construction sector, a way of supplying natural sand at a starting price of 8 euros per ton.
Object of the disposal
The purpose of the contract is the sale of the natural sand stockpiles located in the Espinosa de Juarros quarry, with a volume of 31,448 m³ and an estimated weight of 58,179 tons. The starting economic conditions are as follows:
- Starting price: 465,532 euros (8 euros per ton), improvable upwards.
- The base price does not include VAT payment.
- Procedure: auction, in accordance with the clauses of the administrative clauses specifications.
The documentation of the file can be obtained at the town hall of the Neighborhood Board of Espinosa de Juarros.
Deadline and method for submitting bids
Bids must be submitted within a period of fifteen calendar days counted from the day following the publication of the notice in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Burgos. On the last day of the period, admission ends at 2:00 p.m.; if that date is a non-working day, the period will be automatically extended until the first following working day.
- Place of submission: town hall of the Neighborhood Board of Espinosa de Juarros, Calle Real, s/n, 09198 Espinosa de Juarros (Burgos).
- Documentation to be submitted: that established in clause seven of the administrative clauses specifications.
Expenses borne by the successful bidder
The successful bidder must assume all expenses related to the file, including those for publication of notices, applicable taxes and fees for formalizing the contract in a public deed, as well as its registration in the corresponding registry or registries, where applicable.
The auction turns a municipal stockpile into liquidity for Espinosa de Juarros and opens up an opportunity for companies in the sector to publicly procure raw material with a base price set at 8 euros per tonne. Bids may be submitted during the fifteen calendar days following the publication of the notice in the official gazette.
