Interested parties are summoned for the 45 firefighter positions in Seville.

The Court of First Instance of Seville will hold on 14 September 2026 the hearing in Abbreviated Proceedings 233/2025, brought against the decision that exhausted the administrative remedies in the selection tests to fill 45 firefighter positions of Seville City Council. The hearing, set for 11:00 a.m., has been notified through a notice published in Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 156, of 13 August 2026, which summons interested parties to appear in the proceedings.

The appeal was filed by Jaime Mora Morales against Resolution number 4604, of 22 June 2025, of the Director-General of Human Resources, dismissing the administrative appeal filed against the agreement of 3 April 2025 of the selection board. The call for the 45 positions was published in BOP number 93, of 25 April 2022, and the matter is being processed in the Administrative Litigation Division of the court, located at Plaza number 12 in Seville, Office 6. The notice has been issued by the Area of Citizen Security and Human Resources of the City Council, through the Directorate-General for Human Resources and its Selection Department.

Summons to interested parties

The notice, signed by the Deputy Head of the Selection, Recruitment and Human Resources Management Service, Patricia Ines Nogales Alvarez, by delegation of the head of the service, summons all those with a legitimate interest in the proceedings to appear before the court if they so wish:

• The time limit for entering an appearance is nine days from the publication of the notice.
• Appearance must be made with a Lawyer and Court Agent.
• The court’s seat is in the Administrative Litigation Division of the Court of First Instance of Seville, Plaza number 12.

A hearing scheduled for 14 September

The hearing was scheduled for 14 September 2026 at 11:00 a.m., in the court’s courtroom, in the following terms:

• Place: City of Justice, Palmas Altas Campus, Building A.
• Address: Energía Solar Street number 1, Hearing Room number 6, ground floor, 41014 Seville.
• The notice reminds interested parties that they may appear within the nine-day period to defend their rights.

The subject matter of the dispute

The dispute directly affects the candidates in the selection process: the agreement adopted on 3 April 2025 by the selection board was appealed and Resolution 4604/2025 upheld it by dismissing the appeal. It is now for the administrative litigation jurisdiction to decide whether that agreement complies with the law, a decision that may condition the final outcome of the selection and the filling of the 45 positions called.

The ruling of Summary Procedure 233/2025 is being followed with anticipation by the candidates who participated in the 2022 recruitment process, since a favorable ruling could alter the list of successful candidates and the future of those who aspired to join the firefighter corps of the Seville City Council. Those with a legitimate interest who have not yet appeared have nine days to assert their rights before the court, with the mandatory assistance of lawyer and solicitor.
