El Tribunal Superior de Castilla-La Mancha nombra jueces de paz en Alcadozo

The Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete publishes this Friday, November 6, 2026, the announcement by which the Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha appoints the titular justice of the peace and the substitute justice of the peace for the municipality of Alcadozo. The agreement was adopted on October 19, 2026, and appears in the gazette under the fourth section, Administration of Justice, with reference number 29.046. The appointees are Ángel Rodríguez Jiménez, as titular, and Agustín Felipe Blázquez, as substitute.

The edict is signed by the Secretary of Government of the Castilian-Manchegan high court, Sigfrido Mangas Morales, in Albacete on October 23, 2026. The agreement is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Regulation number 3/1995, of June 7, published in the Official State Gazette on July 13, 1995, whose article 20 regulates the filling of these positions.

The Governing Chamber acted in commission, in accordance with articles 101.2 and 101.4 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary, and in compliance with the agreement of the Plenary of the General Council of the Judiciary of December 1, 1995. The appointments extend to municipalities in the province of Albacete, with an express indication of the position in each case.

This is not an isolated procedure. In recent weeks, the same body has resolved other rounds of appointments in the province: the agreement of September 4, 2026, affected Paterna del Madera, Viveros, Bienservida, and Nerpio, and that of October 9, 2026, affected Masegoso and Villavaliente. This Friday’s publication completes a new phase of coverage for proximity justice in the province.

The two appointments

The announcement specifies the two positions filled and the identification of each appointee, with the National Identity Document partially hidden for data protection:

  • Titular Justice of the Peace of Alcadozo (Albacete): Ángel Rodríguez Jiménez, DNI ****6000.
  • Substitute Justice of the Peace of Alcadozo (Albacete): Agustín Felipe Blázquez, DNI ****6889.

Both positions correspond to the same municipality, so that the post is covered both in its titular capacity and in substitution in case of absence, vacancy, or illness of the titular.

Possession, oath, and four-year mandate

The two appointees must take possession of their office within twenty calendar days following the date of publication of the appointment in the Official Gazette of the Province. Before taking possession, they must take an oath or make a promise before the President of the Court of First Instance of the corresponding judicial district. The appointed person shall not be obliged to swear or promise if they have already done so previously for the same position.

The term of office lasts four years and is calculated from the date of publication of the appointment in the provincial bulletin. That is, the count begins this very November 6, 2026, and not from the date of the Government Chamber’s agreement nor from the swearing-in.

Administrative appeal against the agreement

The edict opens the path for challenge: an administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the appointment agreement within one month, counted from the day following the notification or publication, before the Permanent Commission of the General Council of the Judiciary. The appeal must comply with the grounds and formalities established by Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Why it matters to the residents of Alcadozo

The justice of the peace is the closest gateway to the Administration of Justice for the residents of a small municipality: they assume functions of conciliation, civil registry, and certain proximity proceedings, without the need to travel to the judicial district. With this agreement, Alcadozo ceases to have the position held on an interim basis and now has a titular and a substitute formally designated by the governing body of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha, with a four-year term starting from this Friday’s official publication.
