The Social Worker test will be held on September 12

The Examination Board appointed for the permanent filling of four Social Worker positions, belonging to the special administration scale, technical sub-scale, via the open competitive examination system, has set the date, place, and time for the first exercise of the call. In a session held on August 24, 2026, the body agreed that the test will be held on Saturday, September 12 at the Leopoldo Queipo Secondary Education Institute (IES), located at Plaza nº 1 de Mayo, 2, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous City of Melilla (BOME) number 6409, of August 28, 2026.
Framework of the call
The call for these four positions was approved by Order No. 1406, of March 31, 2026, published in BOME No. 6368, of April 7, 2026. The process is handled through the open competitive examination system and is framed within the special administration scale, technical sub-scale, of the Autonomous City’s staff.
Subsequently, Order No. 3892, of August 18, 2026, modified the composition of the Qualifying Board following the recusals filed by Ms. Mª. Carmen Aparicio Montilla and Ms. Ana I. Redondo Fernández, appointed as Full and Substitute Members, respectively, by Order No. 3328, of July 17, 2026.
Characteristics of the first exercise
The first exercise will consist of a multiple-choice questionnaire composed of 80 questions, plus 5 reserve questions for possible annulments, with multiple responses of three alternatives of which only one is correct. Candidates will have a maximum of 90 minutes.
- Each question is worth 0.125 points; blank questions are not penalized.
- Errors are penalized according to the formula A(E/(n-1)), where “A” is the number of correct answers, “E” the number of errors, and “n” the number of alternatives.
- The grade is expressed from 0 to 10 points, requiring a minimum of 5 points to be able to perform the second exercise.
Access control and rules of the day
The security check for candidates will begin at 18:30 hours and will be carried out continuously until 19:30 hours. After that time, no candidate will be allowed entry.
- Refusal to undergo the security check will imply exclusion from the exercise.
- The Board will publish an informative note with the rules and instructions to be followed on the day of the event on the website and on the Notice Board of the Autonomous City of Melilla.
The announcement is signed by the Secretary of the Board, Victoriano Juan Santamaría Martínez, dated August 26, 2026.
Relevance for candidates
The setting of the date for the first exercise is a key milestone for registered candidates, who have barely two weeks to prepare for the test and must strictly adhere to the access schedules, as entry closes definitively at 7:30 p.m. The official publication guarantees the publicity and legal certainty of the selection process, in which passing the test with a minimum of 5 points is an indispensable condition to continue in the competitive examination.
