El Tarragonès convoca les ajudes de desplaçament escolar per al curs 2026-2027

The Tarragonès County Council has announced the individual travel grants (AID) for the 2026-2027 academic year, intended to subsidize the transport of students who must study at a public center outside their municipality of residence. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 29, 2026, with the reference CVE 2026-08863 (pp. 1-6), and derives from the Presidency decree of September 22, 2026.

The text is an extract of the call registered in the National Grants Database with code 931379 and announcement ID 221540. The awarding procedure is non-competitive, and the granting is conditional upon the addendum that the Council plans to sign with the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya; if it is not signed, the grants will be denied without right to compensation.

The regulatory bases were approved by the Plenary of the County Council on February 24, 2026, and were published in the BOPT with the reference CVE 2026-04191 (May 19, 2026), with an extract in the DOGC on June 19, 2026; the final approval was published in the BOPT with the reference CVE 2026-06920 (July 29, 2026).

A budget of 10,050 euros and amounts from 400 to 600 euros

The maximum budget that the Department of Education allocates to the call is 10,050.00 euros, charged to the budget line 1.324.22728.01. The amount of each grant can never exceed the actual cost of travel.

The maximum amounts are assigned according to the distance to the center, one way:

  • Up to 10 km: 400 euros per academic year.
  • From 11 to 20 km: 600 euros per academic year.

These amounts may be modified based on the student’s personal situation and social services reports. The number of daily trips is also taken into account and, when several siblings share a vehicle, a single grant may be awarded for all of them. If applications exceed the available credit, a proportional reduction may be applied; in cases of adapted transport not covered by other means, the budget allocation may be increased.

Requirements and submission of applications

Students enrolled in educational centers in the Tarragonès region who are in the second cycle of early childhood education or compulsory education and who meet these conditions may be beneficiaries:

  • Must be enrolled in a public education center outside their municipality of residence.
  • The center must have been proposed by the Department of Education because the service is not covered in the municipality.
  • Do not have access to free collective school transport.

The application is made using the form in Annex II, available at the center itself or on the Tarragonès County Council website (www.tarragones.cat), and is submitted to the center’s director, who forwards it to the Council’s electronic office. The deadline is 30 business days from the day after the publication of the announcement in the BOPT; outside of this period, only special situations are admitted.

Resolution, payment, and appeals

The Education Area of the Council instructs the procedure and the Presidency of the Tarragonès County Council issues the resolution, upon the proposal of the Department of Education and Vocational Training. The maximum period for resolution is three months from the closing of the application period, and administrative silence has a dismissive effect.

The resolution is notified electronically to the center’s director and is published on the electronic office notice board (e-tauler); to consult it, the student’s IDALU number is required. The grant is understood to be accepted if the contrary is not stated within 15 days; payment is made to the account indicated in the application and the justification must be presented no later than May 15, 2027 (the director must send the form before April 30, 2027). An administrative contentious appeal may be filed against the resolution within two months or, optionally, an appeal for reversal within one month.

The extract is signed by Jesus Fuster Amades, acting secretary, in Tarragona on September 24, 2026.

With this call, families in the Tarragonès region who do not have free school transport can recover part of the cost of transporting their children to a center in another municipality, an expense that especially affects the small municipalities of the region. The requirement of the addendum with the Department of Education is, however, the key to the entire process: without this agreement, no aid will be granted.
