El Tajo will pay late payment interest to 29 expropriated estates in Escamilla

The Tagus Hydrographic Confederation has authorized the payment of compensation in the form of late payment interest to the owners of 29 estates in the municipality of Escamilla affected by the supply works for the Entrepeñas and Buendía reservoirs. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara, number 189, corresponding to Monday, October 5, 2026. The proposal for authorization, commitment, recognition of the obligation, and payment was signed by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge on September 27, 2026.

The file covering these payments is that of compulsory expropriation under the urgency procedure motivated by the works “Modified No. 1 of the Supply Project for the future Association of nuclei bordering the Entrepeñas and Buendía reservoirs (Guadalajara and Cuenca),” processed under the key 03.399.001/2121. The publication is carried out for the purposes provided for in Article 49 of the Compulsory Expropriation Regulations, which develop the Compulsory Expropriation Law of December 16, 1954.

How the amounts will be paid

Payment will be made by bank transfer to the account designated by the interested parties. Those amounts that cannot be paid by bank transfer will be deposited in the General Deposit Fund (Caja General de Depósitos) at the disposal of the interested parties. Once the parties rectify the circumstance that led to said deposit, the Tagus Hydrographic Confederation (Confederación Hidrográfica del Tajo) will proceed to carry out the appropriate procedures to effect payment.

Effects for the owners

Publication in the official bulletin serves as the notification provided for in Article 49 of the Compulsory Expropriation Regulations, such that the owners of the listed properties are formally informed of the recognition of the obligation and the payment of late-payment interest generated by the delay in the determination or payment of the fair price. Affected parties must have a bank account designated to receive the transfer and, failing that, go to the General Deposit Fund to withdraw the deposited amounts.
