El Tablero: the draft PGOU of Sector T-9, open for public consultation

The Plenary City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana agreed to submit to public consultation the preliminary draft of the substantial modification of the General Urban Development Plan (PGOU) of the municipality, which provides the detailed planning for Sector T-9 El Tablero, together with the strategic environmental assessment. The announcement is published in issue 96 of the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, of August 12, 2026, with the official reference 1.508.639, and opens a period of forty-five business days for submitting comments.

The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary in an ordinary session held on June 2, 2026, through the acknowledgment of the preliminary draft, promoted by the commercial entity Aranrub, S.L., represented by José Francisco Henríquez Sánchez, and processed under file number 1466/2019 of Planning. The procedure is conducted in accordance with articles 164 and 165 of Law 4/2017, of July 13, on Land and Protected Natural Areas of the Canary Islands, which regulate public information and consultations with the administrations in the processing of planning instruments.

A preliminary draft with strategic environmental assessment

The document submitted to public exhibition includes the detailed planning of Sector T-9 El Tablero and the strategic environmental assessment required to evaluate its effects. The processing is carried out as a substantial modification of the current PGOU of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, which implies an in-depth review of the urban planning determinations of the area.

How to participate in the process

During the public consultation period, which is counted from the day following publication in the provincial bulletin, any interested party may examine the file and submit comments:

• Deadline: forty-five business days from August 13, 2026.
• Comments: in writing, at the General Registry of the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
• Examination of the file: graphic and written documentation available on the municipal website www.maspalomas.com, section Notice Board-Public Exhibition.
• Institutional consultations: simultaneously, the file is sent to the different administrations concerned.

The Planning file 1466/2019 arises from the initiative of the company Aranrub, S.L., whose representative is José Francisco Henríquez Sánchez. The announcement, dated in San Bartolomé de Tirajana on July 7, 2026, is signed by the councilor of the Government Area of Urban Planning, Heritage, Patrimonial Responsibility and Housing, Alejandro I. Marichal Ramos, under Decree number 3266, of June 21, 2023.

The publication of this advance marks the formal start of a procedure that will culminate in the final approval of the modification of the PGOU, the provisions of which will set the uses and layout of Sector T-9 El Tablero. Therefore, the public information period is an opportunity for residents, property owners and economic agents of the municipality to learn about the project and make their observations before the plan continues its processing.
