SEXPE increases self-employment grants in Extremadura by 2.6 million

The Extremadura Public Employment Service (SEXPE) has increased by 2,646,000 euros the credit allocated to Program I of self-employment grants, intended for the establishment of unemployed persons as self-employed workers. The measure is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 192, of October 5, 2026, through an announcement modifying the summary of the 2025-2026 call (reference 2026062474).

The call is governed by Decree 39/2024, of April 30, which establishes the regulatory bases, and by the Resolution of July 16, 2025, of the General Secretariat of the SEXPE. Its summary was published in DOE number 149, of August 4, 2025, and the file appears in the National Grants Database with the identifier 848613.

The expansion is processed in accordance with article 39.4 of Law 6/2011, of March 23, on Grants of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, and under the protection of Resolution 12.2 of the call resolution and article 13.6 of the decree of bases. The announcement was signed in Mérida on September 25, 2026, by the General Secretary of the SEXPE, Nicolás Macías Manzanedo, by delegation of the Resolution of May 29, 2026 (DOE no. 108, of June 8, 2026).

The expanded expenditure project

The expansion affects project 20001389 “Promotion of Self-Employment”, financed with own funds of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, which increases from 1,100,000 to 3,746,000 euros. Of the new figure, 100,000 euros correspond to the 2025 fiscal year and 3,646,000 euros to the 2026 fiscal year, charged to the budget application 140130000/G/242A/47000/CAG000001/20001389.

The increase is structured through the modification of the expenditure file, following a report from the General Comptroller, and requires the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of Extremadura and on the Grants Portal of the Autonomous Community.

Total credits of Program I

After the modification, the credits of the call for Program I are distributed as follows:

• 20001389 “Promotion of Self-Employment” (own funds): 3,746,000 euros; 100,000 in 2025 and 3,646,000 in 2026.
• 20230057 “Self-Employment Aid (FS)” (European Social Fund Plus): 19,000,000 euros; 7,000,000 in 2025 and 12,000,000 in 2026.
• 20230062 “Promotion of Youth Entrepreneurship (FS)” (co-financed by the ESF Plus): 11,000,000 euros; 4,000,000 in 2025 and 7,000,000 in 2026.

Financing and publicity

The announcement modifies the Fourth section of the summary of August 4, 2025, regarding the financing and amounts of the grant. Publicity is carried out in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database.

The expansion reinforces the public funding available for those starting a self-employed activity in Extremadura, by increasing the state credit of own funds destined for the promotion of self-employment to more than triple the initial allocation. Those interested in applying for Program I must adhere to the conditions and deadlines set in the call of July 16, 2025, and its successive modifications published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura.
