SESPA awards Jorge Díaz Leiguarda the supervision of Mental Health for the East

The Management of Health Area III-East of the Health Service of the Principality of Asturias (SESPA) has resolved to award Jorge Díaz Leiguarda the position of Mental Health Area Supervisor for Area III-East. The decision is formalized in the Resolution of July 29, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 161, of August 20, 2026, with code 2026-06780.

The process is part of the call opened by the Resolution of June 8, 2026, published in BOPA number 113, of June 15, 2026, under Decree 87/2014, of October 8, which regulates the provision systems for singularized positions and middle management within the scope of SESPA, and its modification by Decree 49/2019, of June 21.

An intermediate management position for healthcare administration

The position of Mental Health Area Supervisor is an intermediate management role that coordinates the organization of mental health services in eastern Asturias. The award occurs after the completion of the two phases of the provision process, based on the proposal of the Evaluation Commission, in accordance with articles nine and ten of Decree 87/2014 and bases eight to ten of the call.

The Management acts by delegation of the Managing Director of SESPA, according to the Resolution of August 3, 2012 (BOPA of December 9, 2014).

Temporary appointment and periodic evaluation

The awardee will receive a temporary appointment and must take office the day following the publication of the resolution in the BOPA. Additionally, they must pass an evaluation at the end of each five-year period of effective performance, and their continuity for similar periods may be agreed upon if they pass the evaluations according to articles 11 and 12 of Decree 87/2014.

Appeals and signature

Against the resolution, which does not exhaust the administrative route, an administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed before the Minister of Health within one month from the day following its publication, in accordance with the Law of the Principality of Asturias 7/2019, of March 29, on Health, in relation to Law 2/1995 and Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure. The resolution is signed in Gijón on July 29, 2026, by the Manager of Health Area III-East.
