Sescam appoints Lozano as head of Radiotherapeutic Oncology in Toledo

The Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (Sescam) has appointed Eva María Lozano Martín as Head of the Radiation Oncology Service of the Toledo Specialized Care Management. The decision is formalized in the Resolution of 09/11/2026, from the Toledo Specialized Care Management, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM) No. 180, dated September 18, 2026, with the official reference 2026/6600. The appointment has a duration of four years.

The appointment is adopted in accordance with the provisions of Decree 89/2005, of July 26, 2005 (DOCM No. 151, of July 29), regarding the provision of healthcare-related Headships of Sescam. The position was resolved through a public call procedure, following the binding resolution proposal submitted by the Evaluation Commission, in accordance with the provisions of clause 7.2 of the call.

The resolution is signed by the Managing Director of the Toledo Specialized Care Management, Sagrario de la Azuela Gómez, in Toledo, on September 11, 2026, by virtue of the powers delegated by the Resolution of the Sescam Managing Directorate on the delegation of powers of November 20, 2023 (DOCM No. 233, of December 5).

A process opened in February

The call to provide the Headship of the Radiation Oncology Service of the Toledo Specialized Care Management was approved by Resolution of 02/05/2026 (DOCM No. 29, of February 12), following authorization from the General Directorate of Human Resources and Transformation of Sescam.

The process has been carried out in accordance with Decree 89/2005, the regulation that governs the provision of healthcare-related headships in the regional health service. The Evaluation Commission submitted the binding resolution proposal that is now materialized in the appointment.

Four years and assumption of office within one month

The resolution sets the conditions of the position:

• Duration of the appointment: four years, in accordance with clause 8.1 of the call and articles 9.1 and 11.1 of Decree 89/2005.
• At the end of the period, the holder will be evaluated for the purpose of their continuity in the position.
• To continue, they must express their will with a minimum notice of three months.
• The period for taking office will be one month from the day following the publication of the resolution in the DOCM, according to the ninth clause of the call.

Appeals against the resolution

The resolution exhausts the administrative route, therefore a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against it before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Toledo, within two months from the day following its publication, according to article 14.2 of Law 29/1998, of July 13.

An optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Specialized Care Management Directorate of Toledo within one month, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.

The appointment affects the healthcare leadership of the Toledo hospital and oncological care in the province, as Radiation Oncology is a central specialty in cancer treatment. The designation comes after a selection process initiated in February and guarantees the continuity of the leadership for the next four years, with an evaluation prior to any extension.
