Por FactBox Admin

The Extremadura Health Service (SES) has made public the final list of successful candidates in the specialty of General and Digestive System Surgery from the selection process convened for access to the status of permanent statutory personnel in the category of Area Specialist Physician. The resolution, signed on October 1, 2026, by the Management Directorate, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) no. 196, dated October 9, 2026, with the official reference 2026062523. Candidates who have passed the process have ten business days to submit the supporting documentation for the required requirements.
The original call is the Resolution of December 19, 2024, from the SES Management Directorate, published in DOE no. 249, dated December 26, which opened the selection process to fill Area Specialist Physician positions in this specialty within SES health institutions. The new resolution complies with the provisions set out in the rules of that call and concludes the administrative process.
The document is signed in Mérida by the Managing Director, Encarnación Solís Pérez, and the final list can also be consulted online through the SES Personnel Selection Portal.
Sixty-three successful candidates in the open category
The final list, classified by access category and ordered by the score obtained, corresponds to the open category and includes 63 candidates declared fit. The table details the grade of the competitive examination phase, merits in training, experience, on-call shifts, publications, and teaching, the total competition score, and the final sum of both phases.
- First place: María Carmona Agúndez, with 69.533 points.
- Second place: María Elisa Valle Rodas, with 67.061 points.
- Third place: Luis Oliver García, with 65.390 points.
- Last place on the list: Aida Tebar Zamora, with 34.342 points.
Ten business days to certify requirements
According to the ninth rule, candidates who have passed the process and who, based on their score, fall within the total number of offered positions must electronically submit, via the SES Personnel Selection Portal, the documents certifying compliance with the requirements. The deadline is ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the resolution in the DOE, in accordance with Annex II of the call.
Additionally, rule 9.3 allows for the designation of an additional number of candidates required to submit this documentation. In this case, those appearing on the final list from order number 24, Osama Aburedwan Baraka, to order number 29, Jaime López Sánchez, must do so.
The required documentation includes:
- Certified copy of the National Identity Document or valid passport.
- Certified copy of the academic degree or certificate required to participate.
- Sworn statement of not having been dismissed from service nor being disqualified from public functions.
- Sworn statement of not holding the status of permanent statutory personnel of the same category and specialty.
- Sworn statement regarding the cases set forth in Article 35.bis of Law 1/2014, of February 18.
- Official medical certificate of fitness for the performance of duties.
- Negative certificate from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders and Human Trafficking, when the SES has not been authorized to retrieve the data.
Loss of rights and means of appeal
Those who, being obligated, fail to present the supporting documentation shall lose, except in cases of force majeure, the right to be appointed as permanent statutory personnel, without prejudice to the liability they may incur for falsehood in their application.
Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the competent jurisdictional body within two months from the day following its publication in the DOE. Optionally, a request for reversal (recurso de reposición) may be presented to the same body within one month.
The publication closes the selection phase for this specialty and opens the decisive step for the highest-ranking candidates: the timely submission of documentation determines the appointment as permanent statutory personnel of the SES, while its omission implies the loss of the right to the position. For the Extremaduran health system as a whole, the resolution entails the effective incorporation of new specialists in General and Digestive System Surgery into the SES institutions.
