The SES publishes the final list of 45 successful candidates in Cardiology

The Extremadura Health Service has made public the final list of successful candidates in the Cardiology specialty of the selection process convened for access to the status of permanent statutory personnel in the category of Area Specialist Physician. The resolution, signed in Mérida on September 18, 2026, by the managing director Encarnación Solís Pérez, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE no. 186, of September 25, 2026), with the official reference 2026062406.

The original call is the Resolution of December 19, 2024 (DOE no. 249, of December 26), from the Management Directorate of the Extremadura Health Service, which opened the Cardiology selection process in the health institutions of the autonomous body. The final list is classified by access shifts and ordered by the score obtained, and can also be consulted on the Personnel Selection Portal of the Extremadura Health Service.

The Cardiology publication is added to the final lists of other medical specialties released in previous weeks: Rheumatology on September 15, 2026, and Nephrology, Otolaryngology, Radiodiagnostics, Allergology, Intensive Care Medicine, and Pulmonology on September 10, 2026, all of which were published in DOE no. 181, of September 18, 2026.

The final list: 45 successful candidates and the top positions

The list includes a total of 45 candidates from the open shift, with the final score resulting from the sum of the competitive examination and merit phases. The top positions on the list are as follows:

• Elena Jiménez Baena, order number 1, with 73.448 points.
• Javier Pérez Cervera, order number 2, with 73.069 points.
• Zineb Kounka Ait El Maalem, order number 3, with 69.639 points.
• Eusebio Alejandro García-Izquierdo Jaén, order number 4, with 69.278 points.
• Laura Pérez Gómez, order number 5, with 68.642 points.
• Benjamín Roque Rodríguez, order number 6, with 68.174 points.

The official table details, for each candidate, the grade of the competitive examination phase and the different sections of the merit phase: university education, specialized training, continuing and occupational training, professional experience in different administrations and centers, on-call shifts and reinforcements, publications, and teaching. The last column indicates whether the self-assessment provided by the candidate was validated by the tribunal.

Ten business days to submit documentation

In accordance with the ninth clause of the call for applications, candidates who have passed the process and who, based on their score, fall within the total number of offered positions must electronically submit, via the Personnel Selection Portal of the Servicio Extremeño de Salud, the documents proving compliance with the requirements. The deadline is ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the resolution in the Diario Oficial de Extremadura, pursuant to Annex II of the call.

The required documentation includes:

• Certified copy of the National Identity Document or valid passport, unless authorization is granted to the Servicio Extremeño de Salud to verify identity data ex officio.
• Certified copy of the required academic degree or certificate, with recognition and validity in Spain in the case of foreign qualifications.
• Sworn statement declaring that the candidate has not been dismissed from service through disciplinary proceedings nor is disqualified from exercising public functions.
• Sworn statement declaring that the candidate does not hold the status of permanent statutory personnel of the same category and specialty.
• Sworn statement declaring that the candidate does not fall under the cases set forth in article 35.bis) of Law 1/2014, of February 18.
• Official medical certificate proving that the candidate does not suffer from any illness or defect that prevents the performance of the duties.
• Negative certificate from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders and Human Trafficking, when authorization has not been granted to the Servicio Extremeño de Salud to collect this data.

Those who, being obligated, fail to present the documentation shall lose, except in cases of force majeure, the right to be appointed as permanent statutory personnel, without prejudice to liability for falsehood in the application.

One additional candidate and appeal process

Pursuant to clause 9.3 of the call, which allows for the setting of an additional number of candidates required to present documentation, the candidate appearing in the final list with order number 7, Armando Oterino Manzanas, must also do so.

Against the resolution, which concludes the administrative route, interested parties may file a contentious-administrative appeal before the competent jurisdictional body within two months from the day following its publication in the Diario Oficial de Extremadura. Optionally, a prior appeal for reversal may be filed before the same body within one month.

The publication closes the selection phase for Cardiology and starts the countdown for those who passed and secured a position to formalize their incorporation as permanent statutory personnel, a relevant step for the candidates and for the reinforcement of the healthcare staff of the Servicio Extremeño de Salud in a specialty with high healthcare demand.
