The Extremadura Health Service (SES) has resolved the call for grants for the implementation of addictive behavior prevention programs in municipalities and associations of municipalities for 2026, with a distribution of 96,940.23 euros among 17 local entities. The decision, signed by the managing director Encarnación Solís Pérez on October 1, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) No. 198, of October 14, 2026, with the official reference 2026062543.
The resolution closes the procedure opened by the Resolution of June 19, 2026, of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Health and Dependency Care (DOE No. 123, of June 29), which called for aid with a global allocation of 158,560 euros. The regulatory bases are Decree 72/2016, of May 31 (DOE No. 107, of June 6), whose Chapter III specifically regulates grants destined for addictive behavior prevention programs developed by municipalities and associations of municipalities.
The Evaluation Commission met on September 15, 2026, and issued a report on the applications submitted; on September 29, the Director General of Public Health formulated the proposed resolution. The authority to resolve corresponds to the head of the SES Management Directorate, according to article 8.4 of Decree 72/2016. The funds are charged to budget application 20263901212D46000 and expenditure project codes 20060566 and 20060571 of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura for 2026 (DOE No. 149, of August 4).
Two modalities and a global allocation of 158,560 euros
The call is structured into two funding lines. Modality A, destined for the hiring of technical prevention personnel, has 80,560 euros charged to project code 20060566 and 3,000 euros charged to 20060571. Modality B, for the development of prevention activities, has 75,000 euros charged to code 20060566.
From that global allocation, the resolution finally grants 34,199.60 euros in Modality A and 62,740.63 euros in Modality B, totaling the 96,940.23 euros distributed among the beneficiary entities. The subsidized activity includes community prevention actions and other prevention, training, and assistance programs in the field of drug addiction.

Rejections and appeals
Annex II lists five rejected applications. In Modality A, the application from Fuente del Maestre (P0605400A) is rejected because it is integrated into the Mancomunidad Río Bodión, which does receive a subsidy; those from the Mancomunidad de Municipios Siberia and the Mancomunidad de Municipios La Serena, because their prevention technician has occupied a permanent labor position since April 2023 and April 2024 respectively, through stabilization procedures; and that of the Mancomunidad Integral de Municipios Centro (P0600064J), whose expenses do not fully align with the purpose of the subsidy. This last entity also has its application rejected in Modality B for the same reason.
Beneficiary entities must publicize the aid by including the mention “Junta de Extremadura. Servicio Extremeño de Salud” in their publications and reports, in accordance with article 17.3 of Law 6/2011, of March 23, on Subsidies of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. Payment will be made without the need to provide a guarantee. This resolution ends the administrative process: an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months, counting from the day following its publication in the DOE.
The publication of this resolution has the effects of notification, in accordance with article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. For the Extremaduran city councils and mancomunidades, the distribution confirms the amounts with which they will finance their community prevention and drug addiction care programs during 2026, as well as the hiring of the prevention technicians who sustain these actions in rural areas.
