Por FactBox Admin

The Canarian Employment Service has announced 34.6 million euros in grants to finance alternating employment and training projects (PFAE) for the 2026 fiscal year, under a competitive bidding process. The call is formalized in the extract of the Resolution of August 19, 2026, by the President of the organization, Jéssica del Cármen de León Verdugo, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands no. 198, of October 2, 2026, within section V of announcements. Interested entities have 20 days to submit their application starting from the day following said publication.
The measure depends on the Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands and is financed with funds from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, transferred to the Autonomous Community for the management of labor-related grants. The credit is allocated to item 2026.50.01.241H.450.0400, Fund 4050035, action line 504G0368 “Employment and training opportunities”. The regulatory bases are those of Order No. 526/2024, of the Ministry of Tourism and Employment, of September 26, 2024, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands no. 33, of February 17, 2025.
A guaranteed project on each island
The projects consist of combined employment and training actions aimed at unemployed persons registered with the Canarian Employment Service, involving effective work in a real environment that allows for the acquisition of professional competencies. Each project will serve 15 target individuals and will have a duration of 11 months and 15 days.
To ensure that these employment policies reach the entire territory, the resolution assigns at least one project to each of the seven islands of greater geographical size, regardless of the number of unemployed persons existing in each. This distribution represents a maximum amount of 375,111.00 euros per island as the subsidized cost of a project.
Amounts and economic module
The amount of the economic module per position amounts to 25,007.40 euros, calculated based on project costs with alternating training contracts and full-time team hiring. The daily amount of the module per position is set at 75.78 euros.
- Total allocation of the call: 34,600,000.00 euros.
- Economic module per position: 25,007.40 euros.
- Daily economic module per position: 75.78 euros.
- Maximum amount per island: 375,111.00 euros.
- Target individuals per project: 15.
- Duration of each project: 11 months and 15 days.
The resolution specifies that projects with part-time contracts are not permitted, as the calculation of the module was carried out based on full-time contracts.
Deadlines and submission of applications
Promoting entities must submit the application in accordance with the fourteenth clause, using Annex I (application), Annex I.a) (responsible declaration model), and Annex II (report and forecast of income and expenses). The forms are available on the electronic office of the Government of the Canary Islands, under procedure 6847.
- Application period: 20 days from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands.
- Deadline for the administrative start of the project: December 31, 2026.
- Deadline for the start of the training action: November 30, 2027.
The summary is published under articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies Law, and its full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database with the identifier BDNS 931330.
The call directly affects the unemployed throughout the archipelago and the promoting entities—city councils, island councils (cabildos), associations, and other non-profit entities—that aim to develop these programs. The guarantee of one project per island reinforces the territorial distribution of funds, while the 20-day period requires entities to quickly prepare their report and their forecast of income and expenses.
