The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) has published the final resolutions of fourteen merit-based selection processes for the coverage of intermediate management positions —section heads, nursing supervisors and team heads— in hospital centres and health areas of Jaén, Seville, Cádiz, Córdoba, Huelva, Málaga and Almería. The resolutions, signed on 10 and 11 August 2026 by the General Directorate of Personnel of the Andalusian Health Service, are published in the Official Gazette of the Andalusian Regional Government (BOJA) number 157, of 14 August 2026, in section 2.1 “Authorities and personnel. Appointments, situations and incidents”, with texts no. 11041, 11044, 11045, 11046, 11050, 11057, 11058, 11059, 11060, 11061, 11062, 11064, 11065 and 11073.

The positions are covered through the merit-based competition system, and the published resolutions close the procedures by assigning the destinations to the selected professionals. The same issue of the gazette also includes three corrections of errors in the calls for service headships at the Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar in Cádiz (texts 11051, 11052 and 11053), while the previous issue (BOJA no. 156, of 13 August) had already disseminated a similar final resolution for the Transfusion, Tissues and Cells Centre of Málaga (text 11029).

Medical section headships in hospitals in Jaén, Seville and Córdoba

Most of the awards correspond to section headships with a medical profile in the major Andalusian hospitals:

  • Jaén: Head of Medical Section of Pediatrics (texts 11045 and 11046) and Head of Medical Section of Internal Medicine (text 11073) at the University Hospital of Jaén.
  • Seville: Head of Medical Section of Pulmonology at the University Hospital Virgen Macarena (text 11058) and Head of the Management and Services Department, on a provisional basis, at the University Hospital Virgen del Rocío (text 11057).
  • Córdoba: Head of Medical Section of Radiodiagnostics at the University Hospital Reina Sofía (text 11061).

Nursing supervisors and team heads

In the field of management and care, the resolutions award positions for supervision and coordination of teams in the provinces of Cádiz, Huelva, Málaga and Almería:

  • Cádiz: two positions for Nursing Supervisor (texts 11059 and 11060) and one for Head of Nursing Block (text 11062) at the Hospital Universitario Puerto Real.
  • Huelva: two positions for Head of Orderlies Team at the Hospital Infanta Elena (texts 11064 and 11065).
  • Málaga: Head of Management and Services Team for the clinical management units Algarrobo (text 11041) and Vélez Sur (text 11044), as a complementary assignment of duties, in the Eastern Health Management Area of Málaga-Axarquía.
  • Almería: Director of the Garrucha Clinical Management Unit at the Northern Health Management Area of Almería (text 11050).

A calendar for the resolution of competitions

The resolutions dated 10 August correspond to the management areas of Málaga and Almería, while those signed on 11 August concentrate the headships for medical staff, nursing and services in Jaén, Sevilla, Córdoba, Cádiz and Huelva. With these publications, the General Directorate of Personnel of the SAS completes fifteen selection processes opened in recent weeks, the calls for which had been disseminated in previous issues of the BOJA, including those corrected on the 14th itself for the Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar.

The publication of these final resolutions provides certainty to the professionals waiting for a post and reorders the healthcare organisation of the affected centres, by establishing who will assume the direction of sections, nursing blocks and management teams for the coming year. For citizens, it means the consolidation of the teams that guarantee continuity of care in the hospitals and health areas of seven of the eight Andalusian provinces.
