The Senate defines twelve judicial positions in public hearing on October 7

The National Executive Branch requested the agreement of the Honorable Senate of the Nation to appoint twelve positions within the judicial system, including a public defender for victims based in Mendoza, eight prosecutors in the Federal Capital, a federal prosecutor in Posadas, and a member of the National Court of Appeals in Commercial Matters. The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Blue Room of the Honorable Senate of the Nation, according to the notice published in the Official Gazette of the Argentine Republic on September 17, 2026.

The Parliamentary Secretariat of the H. Senate of the Nation communicated the receipt of the messages from the National Executive Branch requesting agreement for the appointments, which will be addressed in the convened public hearing. The requests are being processed in files PE-249/26 through PE-261/26, with their respective messages, and cover positions in the national criminal and correctional justice, federal justice, and commercial justice.

The eight prosecutors of the Federal Capital

The largest group corresponds to the National Criminal and Correctional Courts of the Federal Capital, with eight prosecutor positions:

• Prosecutor’s Office No. 53: Facundo Jesús Soriano (file PE-251/26, message 230/26).
• Prosecutor’s Office No. 38: Gustavo Amelotti (file PE-252/26, message 231/26).
• Prosecutor’s Office No. 11: Sebastián Eduardo Martínez (file PE-253/26, message 232/26).
• Prosecutor’s Office No. 60: Gabriel Esteban Paramos (file PE-254/26, message 233/26).
• Prosecutor’s Office No. 55: Alejandra Leonor Pérez (file PE-255/26, message 234/26).
• Prosecutor’s Office No. 49: María Noel Fernández Rivera (file PE-256/26, message 235/26).
• Prosecutor’s Office No. 45: Daniela Romina Part (file PE-258/26, message 239/26).

Public Defender, court member, and federal prosecutors

The remaining nominations complete positions of different jurisdictions and courts:

• Public Defender for Victims based in the province of Mendoza: Santiago Bahamondes (file PE-249/26, message 228/26).
• Member of the National Court of Appeals in Commercial Matters of the Federal Capital, Chamber E: Fernando Gabriel D´Alessandro (file PE-257/26, message 238/26).
• Prosecutor before the Federal Court of First Instance in Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Litigation of Posadas, province of Misiones, Prosecutor’s Office No. 2: Arlindo Otto Kurtz (file PE-259/26, message 240/26).
• General Prosecutor before the Oral Courts for Minors of the Federal Capital, Prosecutor’s Office No. 2, for a new appointment: Susana Marta Pernas (file PE-261/26, message 242/26).

Public hearing, deadlines, and observations

The hearing will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Blue Room of the Honorable Senate of the Nation, located at Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen 1849, 1st floor, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

Questions and observations regarding the qualifications and merits of the applicants may be submitted from September 21 to 27, 2026, inclusive, in accordance with the Regulations of the H. Senate of the Nation. Formal requirements are established in the current regulations, available on the Senate website under the “Agreements Committee” item, “Observations Registry” tab.

Submissions may be made digitally, through the institutional website, or in person before the Agreements Committee of the H. Senate of the Nation, located at Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen 1702, 6th floor, Office 606, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The notice bears the signature of Agustín Wenceslao Giustinian, Parliamentary Secretary.

The definition of these twelve positions affects the criminal and correctional justice system of the city, the federal justice of the interior, and the defense of victims; therefore, the hearing on October 7 concentrates sensitive decisions for the daily functioning of the judicial system. The observation stage also opens a limited window—from September 21 to 27—for citizens and organizations to comment on the candidates’ backgrounds before the Senate votes on the agreements.
