The SCS leases two premises in Arrecife to free up healthcare space

The Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) has authorized, through direct agreement, the lease of two premises in Arrecife (Lanzarote) in order to relocate personnel assigned to administrative functions of the Health Services Management of the Lanzarote Health Area and thus free up space for healthcare activity. The decision is detailed in Order No. 602, of August 31, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Health, and its announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 186, of September 16, 2026.

The operation is processed under Article 30.4 of Law 6/2006, of July 17, on the Patrimony of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, which allows for direct agreement when circumstances of peculiarity exist regarding the need to be satisfied. The Minister of Health acts by virtue of powers delegated by the Ministry of Finance and Relations with the European Union through Order No. 391/2025, of May 16, 2025 (BOC No. 104, of 5.27.2025).

The leased properties

The two premises are located at Calle Teruel, No. 27, Hubara Building, in the municipality of Arrecife, and have a combined surface area of 397.10 m². The lease is agreed upon for a term of 7 years.

• Property No. 46,776, cadastral reference 0546901FT4004N0211TT, with a surface area of 232 m².
• Property No. 42,690, cadastral reference 0546901FT4004N0197KK, with a surface area of 165.10 m².

Both properties are part of the cadastral plot 0546901FT4004N, under a horizontal division regime.

Object and purpose

The purpose of the lease is to house the administrative staff of the Health Services Management of the Lanzarote Health Area, with the aim of expanding the healthcare response capacity of the island. According to the announcement, the measure allows for the liberation of significant space for the growth of healthcare activity and, consequently, the improvement of healthcare provision to users.

The direct agreement is further justified by the conditions of the local real estate market, characterized by the absence of offers in the municipality for premises with comparable characteristics and surface area that would allow for the multiple management uses required.

Processing and signature

The announcement, dated September 3, 2026, is signed by the Director General of Economic Resources, Sebastián Fuentes Tarajano, and is published in the section for tender announcements and contract awards of the Ministry of Health.

The publication in the official gazette provides publicity to the authorization in accordance with the provisions of the regional patrimonial regulations, such that the operation is formally documented and accessible for public knowledge.
