El Sauzal abre la segunda convocatoria de ayudas al alquiler 2026

The El Sauzal City Council has opened the second public call for rental assistance grants for the 2026 fiscal year, approved by Decree of the Mayor-President No. 2026/1584, dated September 9, 2026. The call, processed under File 3606/2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife number 111, dated September 16, 2026, and is aimed at housing tenants within the municipality.

This line is part of Line 1: Housing of the Strategic Grant Plan of the El Sauzal City Council for the 2026-2028 period, and is governed by the municipality’s General Grant Ordinance, published in the BOP of Santa Cruz de Tenerife number 47, dated April 17, 2024. The announcement is listed in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 928721.

Credit and amount of aid

The call has a total budget credit of 162,113.88 euros, allocated to budget application 2026.1523.4800700. The granting will be carried out on a competitive basis and, if the applications exceed the allocation, the amount will be prorated proportionally among the beneficiaries.

  • Maximum amount per applicant: 900.00 euros.
  • Eligible expenditure: up to two monthly rent payments for the 2026 year.
  • The amount may not, under any circumstances, exceed the total eligible expenditure.

Beneficiary requirements

Natural persons who are tenants of a dwelling located in El Sauzal that constitutes their habitual and permanent residence may access the aid, provided they meet the following requirements:

  • Be the holder of a current lease agreement subject to the Urban Leasing Law with a duration exceeding twelve months.
  • Have been registered on the municipal census (empadronados) for at least six months in the municipality and have held the status of tenant since at least two months before the closing date.
  • Neither the applicant nor any member of the cohabitation unit may be the owner of another dwelling.
  • There must be no kinship up to the second degree between the landlord and the tenant.
  • Provide proof of full payment of two rent receipts from 2026 prior to the end of the deadline.

The call also sets monthly income limits for the cohabitation unit, minus the rent, based on the number of members:

  • 1 member: €1,831.50 (1.5 times the 2026 SMI).
  • 2 members: €2,442.00.
  • 3 members: €3,052.50.
  • 4 members: €3,663.00.
  • 5 or more members: €4,273.50.

Deadline and method of submission

Applications may be submitted during 10 business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP. Submission should preferably be made through the electronic office of the El Sauzal City Council (elsauzal.sedelectronica.es), or in paper format at the General Registry of the council from 8:00 to 15:00 hours. Applications submitted after the deadline will be inadmissible without the possibility of correction.

The aid is compatible with that granted in the first call of 2026 (File 1488/2026), although those who were already beneficiaries must prove the payment of two receipts different from those provided in the previous call. The procedure will be resolved by Mayoral Decree within a maximum period of six months from the publication of the call.

The opening of this second call is a response to the pressure of the rental market in the municipality and seeks to guarantee access to housing and stabilize the population in El Sauzal. For tenant residents, it represents a concrete opportunity to alleviate the cost of rent in a context of rising prices, therefore it is advisable to submit the application within the ten-business-day period.
