The SAS appoints emergency physicians and declares two applicants unsuccessful
Por FactBox Admin

The General Directorate of Personnel of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) has appointed two candidates who passed the competitive examination process via the open access system as permanent statutory personnel in the category of Family Physician in Hospital Emergency Units, and has declared two others to have forfeited their right for failing to take office within the deadline. This is established by the Resolution of September 2, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) number 173, of September 7, 2026, on page 11510.
The resolution modifies the Resolution of July 15, 2026 (BOJA no. 138, of July 20), which in turn modified the initial appointment of June 2, 2026. The process is part of the Public Employment Offer for the stabilization of temporary employment for 2021, approved by Decree 296/2021, of December 28, and the general bases of the call of December 21, 2022 (Extraordinary BOJA no. 35, of December 30).
Appointments and Assignments
The positions are awarded based on the requested destination centers and the order of the score obtained in the competitive examination. The two new appointments correspond to the Huércal-Overa Hospital:
- Marina Bastías Villar, with 66.523 points, assigned to Huércal-Overa Hospital.
- Eduardo Antonio Pastor Bentabol, with 68.094 points, assigned to Huércal-Overa Hospital.
Forfeited Candidates
In accordance with base 10.1.4 of the general bases, since resignations or failure to take office occurred, the complementary list of candidates is used. The following are declared to have forfeited their right for not having taken office within the period set in the resolution of July 15, 2026:
- Rosa Anai López López.
- Lorenzo Vázquez Bandera.
Deadline for Taking Office and Appeals
The period for taking office shall be one non-extendable month, counted from the first business day following publication in the BOJA. Those who do not report to their destination within that period will lose the rights derived from their participation, except for justified cause appreciated by the General Directorate.
Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the General Directorate of Personnel within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal before the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, Granada Chamber, within two months. The resolution was signed in Seville on September 2, 2026, by the general director, José Luis Sedeño Ferrer.
The publication consolidates the filling of hospital emergency positions within the framework of the stabilization of temporary employment, a key process to reduce temporality in Andalusian health centers and guarantee staffing in emergency services.
