The SAS calls for the head of Oncology at San Cecilio in Granada

The General Directorate of Personnel of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) has announced, via resolution dated August 17, 2026, the filling of the intermediate management position of Head of Section, Medical Oncology Specialist at the Hospital Universitario Clínico San Cecilio in Granada. The call is processed through a merit-based competition system and is published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) number 161, dated August 20, 2026, page 11172 (official reference 00342401).

The position is framed within the healthcare statutory classification group, professional scale A1 and level 26, with a hospital scope. Basic and complementary remuneration will be those established in the current SAS regulations for the announced position.

Regulatory Framework

The call is based on Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the Organization of Health Professions, which regulates access to clinical management functions, including the leadership or coordination of health units and teams. It is developed in accordance with Decree 132/2021, of April 6, which regulates the system for filling management positions and intermediate roles in SAS health centers, and Decree 189/26, of July 30, regarding the organic structure of the Ministry of Presidency, Health, and Emergencies.

Requirements and Applications

To participate, applicants must meet the requirements as of the last day of the application submission period and maintain them throughout the process:

  • Possess Spanish nationality, nationality of a European Union member state or the European Economic Area, or the right to free movement of workers.
  • Hold the title of Medical Oncology Specialist, for which a Degree or Bachelor’s in Medicine is required.
  • Be previously linked to the National Health System as permanent statutory personnel, career civil servant, permanent contractual staff, or university teaching staff with a linked position.
  • Be at least 18 years old, not exceed the compulsory retirement age, and not have been dismissed from service in the previous six years.
  • Provide accreditation of the specific course in occupational risk prevention for intermediate management.

Applications shall be submitted through the Electronic Professional Window (VEC) of the SAS, using an admitted electronic signature. The deadline is ten business days starting from the day following the publication in the BOJA. A Management Project for the position must be submitted along with the application; failure to do so will result in exclusion from the procedure.

Selection Process

The selection will be carried out in two phases evaluated by a Selection Committee, chaired by the head of the hospital’s General Management:

  • Curricular and professional competency evaluation, with a maximum of 60 points and a minimum requirement of 40% to proceed.
  • Presentation and public defense of the Management Project, valued up to 40 points, including a debate before the Commission and participation from the Unit’s professionals, whose assessment may represent up to 20% of the final grade.

The Commission will ensure a balanced presence of men and women, such that neither sex exceeds 60% of its members. Following the provisional resolution and the appeals process, the Management Directorate will issue the final resolution and appoint the candidate with the highest score, with publication in the BOJA.
