El Prat opens the call to include apartments in social housing rentals

The Prat de Llobregat City Council has opened the public call for grants for the inclusion of housing in the municipality’s Social Rental Mediation Pool program, with an allocation of 50,600 euros. The agreement of the Local Government Board from September 21, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on September 30, 2026, with the reference CVE 202610145013. Interested owners have until November 13, 2026, to submit their application.

The extract is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, the general law on subsidies, and is registered in the National Subsidy Database with the identification number BDNS 931480. The applicable regulatory bases are those specific to the municipal program, published in the BOPB on July 19, 2023.

The stated objective is to mobilize vacant housing and encourage the acquisition and maintenance of decent housing within the Pool program. The call bears the signature of the Deputy Mayor of the Urban Planning and Housing Area, Rafael Duarte Molina, and is dated in El Prat de Llobregat on September 23, 2026.

Beneficiaries and requirements

Beneficiaries may be natural or legal persons who own a home and make it available to the Pool, provided they meet the requirements of the bases and have formalized a rental contract within the framework of the program during the year of the call or the immediately preceding year.

• Owners of vacant homes who join the program.
• Owners of homes coming from the private rental market.
• Owners who keep the home in the program after a lease agreement has ended.

In the event of having been a beneficiary of this grant for the same home, at least 3 years must have elapsed between the date of the resolution and the current application.

Amounts and modalities

The total allocation of the call is 50,600 euros, divided into two modalities:

• Up to 1,500 euros for vacant homes mobilized or coming from the private rental market that have formalized a contract during the year of the call or the immediately preceding year.
• Up to 1,200 euros for homes that remain in the program, with a lease agreement ended and a new contract formalized in the same period.

Deadline and processing

The deadline for submitting applications opens the day after the publication of the call in the BOP and closes on November 13, 2026. The full text of the call can be consulted in the National Subsidy Database (BDNS 931480).

A second line for tenants

The same BOPB of September 30 publishes a complementary call for grants for the payment of social rent, intended for people registered in El Prat de Llobregat who are tenants of a contract formalized within the Exchange, managed by Prat Espais SLU, with an allocation of 14,400 euros and reference CVE 202610144986.

The requirements for this second line are that the income of the coexistence unit be less than 3 times the weighted IRSC and that no member of the unit owns 100% title to another home in Spanish territory. Payment is made within the two months following the favorable resolution and justification, and the deadline also ends on November 13, 2026.

The two calls act on both ends of the same problem: the first seeks to expand the supply of affordable housing by attracting empty apartments or those from the private market, and the second relieves the monthly quota of families who already rent through the Exchange. For property owners in the municipality, the application window is just over six weeks from publication.
