The Albacete Plenary creates a Social Educator position

The Plenary of the Albacete City Council, in a session held on June 30, 2026, agreed to modify the municipal organic staff through the suppression of one Community Educator position and the creation of a new Social Educator position, within the framework of the reorganization of the city’s social services. The agreement has been submitted for public information and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete, number 97, of August 21, 2026, page 15.
The measure is processed under article 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of Local Regime, and article 23.4 of Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employees of Castilla-La Mancha, which require the public disclosure of modifications to the organic staff.
Characteristics of the new position
The created position is defined with the following technical characteristics:
- Title: Social Educator.
- Classification: Special Administration Scale, Technical subscale, Middle class.
- Employment relationship: career civil servant.
- Group: A, subgroup A2.
- Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Social Education, or other Diploma or Degree titles with legally established professional qualification.
The transformation replaces a community profile position with one of a social nature, maintaining the remuneration level and the technical scale, which constitutes a reorganization of the human resources assigned to the municipal social services.
Deadlines and appeals
An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against the agreement within one month from the day following the publication of the announcement, before the same body that issued it, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure. It may also be appealed directly via contentious-administrative proceedings before the courts of this order in Albacete within two months, according to articles 8 and 46.1 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.
