El Perelló derecognizes a section of a municipal road to make it heritage property

The Plenary of the Perelló City Council, in a session held on August 20, 2026, initially approved the decommissioning of a section of municipal road no. 9005 to classify it as a patrimonial asset. The agreement, adopted for reasons of public interest, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on August 26, 2026 (reference CVE 2026-07971, pp. 1-2) and is subject to public consultation for 30 days.

The decision affects an area of 1,973.65 m² of municipal road no. 9005, with cadastral reference 43106A102090050000ZT. The change in legal classification will allow this section to cease being considered a public domain asset intended for public use, becoming instead a patrimonial asset of the city council.

A decommissioning to improve the layout

The agreement is based on the existence of a cause of public interest: the decommissioning will facilitate the modification of the road’s layout, resulting in a greater width. According to the announcement, this operation opens the door to possible future expansions and maintenance of the road.

The procedure is part of the management of municipal heritage and the regulations on assets of local entities, which require plenary approval to alter the legal classification of public domain assets.
