El Morell opens student grants for the 2025-2026 academic year
Por FactBox Admin

The Morell City Council has opened the call for individual grants for students for the 2025-2026 school year, with a total allocation of 75,000 euros divided into two lines. The decision, signed by Mayor Eloi Calbet Ferran, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on August 25, 2026, with references CVE 2026-07936 and CVE 2026-07937.
The regulatory bases for the granting of these aids were published in full in the BOP of Tarragona under insertion number 2026-03610, dated May 4, 2026. The call is structured into two lines: line 2, destined for the school canteen, and line 3, for the recovery of students who were excluded in previous calls.
Line 2: grants for school canteen
Line 2, with an allocation of 65,000 euros, is aimed at students of the Ventura Gassol School of Morell and the Dolça Nursery School of Morell who use the canteen service daily. Each beneficiary will receive, upon request, a single grant of 150 euros.
- Minimum attendance of 90% of the center’s school days.
- Use of the canteen service throughout the entire course, from September to June (both inclusive).
- Compliance with the residency requirements of the third base.
- Being up to date with the payment of school services.
- Students who receive any canteen scholarship from the Generalitat, the County Council, or similar are excluded, a condition that must be stated through a responsible declaration.
Line 3: recovery for excluded students
Line 3, with an allocation of 10,000 euros, is an extraordinary line of line 1 for students from centers outside the municipality and for the recovery of those who were excluded in previous calls. It may be requested by students registered in the municipality before September 1, 2024, who, meeting the other requirements, were excluded from line 1 for studying in centers outside the municipality. A specific requirement is not to have been a beneficiary of line 1 in the immediately preceding call for the same concept and course.
The amount of the grant varies according to the study module:
- Module 1 (I3, I4, and I5 students): 120 euros.
- Module 2 (primary education): 140 euros.
- Module 3 (ESO or Baccalaureate): 240 euros.
Deadlines and submission
The application deadline is 30 working days for line 2 and 20 working days for line 3, counting from the day after the publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona and on the City Council’s notice board. The calls for applications are not governed by competitive bidding: if applications exceed the available credit, they will be processed in order of submission to the Entry Registry, and those not attended to will have preference in the following year. The resolutions will be notified on the electronic notice board of the municipal electronic office.
The call, registered in the National Grants Database with identifiers 925613 (line 2) and 925673 (line 3), was approved by mayoral decrees 2026-1955, of August 18, 2026, and 2026-1962, of August 19, 2026, which rectifies the approval. With this double line, the council expands the coverage of aid to families with schooled children, including those students who until now remained outside the ordinary calls.
