Background from the same regional directorate
This call is added to other fiscal inspection consultancy processes promoted by the Airports Directorate in the Los Lagos Region. On August 31, 2026, the Official Gazette No. 44,538 published the tender for the fiscal inspection consultancy for the major conservation of the Cañal Bajo airfield, in the commune of Osorno, with an estimated budget of $93,182,682 net, a term of 120 days, and a bid closing date of September 23, 2026 (CVE 2862386).
At the national level, the Airports Directorate of the Metropolitan Region published on September 15, 2026, in the Official Gazette No. 44,551, the technical consultancy for the fiscal inspection of the contract for the normalization of perimeter fences at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, with a bid closing date of October 19, 2026 (CVE 2869319).
The Palena tender is relevant because it defines who will technically supervise the conservation of the network of small airfields in a southern province with critical connectivity, where airport infrastructure supports the transport of passengers and cargo to localities with limited land access. The committed amount—nearly $184.3 million plus VAT for 12 months—and the requirement for registration in Second Category limit the competition to consultancies with accredited experience in road and airport works, meaning the outcome of the process will define the capacity for effective control over the conservation works during 2026-2027.
