Por FactBox Admin

The Montmell City Council has initially approved the construction project for a new well in the Mas Mateu area, a water infrastructure work valued at €143,572.29 (VAT included). The decision, adopted by the mayor on October 13, 2025, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on August 20, 2026 (official reference CVE 2026-07698, p. 1-1).

The project is subject to a public information period of thirty days, which begins the day after the publication of the announcement in the official gazette and on the City Council’s notice board. If no objections are presented, the project will be definitively approved.

A water project for the residents

The technical project, titled “Project for the construction of a new well in the Mas Mateu area”, was drafted by the engineer José Luis López Vales. The budget for the work is broken down as follows:

  • Base amount: €118,654.90
  • VAT (21%): €24,917.39
  • Total amount: €143,572.29

The initiative responds to the need to reinforce the water supply in the Mas Mateu area, a water infrastructure of direct interest to the residents of the municipality.

Processing and citizen participation

The processing follows the ordinary procedure for the approval of municipal works projects. During the public information period, residents and interested parties may submit objections to the City Council. The announcement was signed by the mayor, José Mª Roldán Lirola (DNI 43450077H), on August 20, 2026.

The publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona guarantees the transparency of the process and opens the door to citizen participation before the work is definitively approved.

Impact for the municipality

The construction of the new well in Mas Mateu represents a significant improvement in the guarantee of water supply for the area, a key infrastructure for the quality of life of the residents and for the development of the municipality. Once the public information process is completed and it is definitively approved, the work can be tendered and executed, consolidating a municipal investment of over 143,000 euros.
