Maresme announces two economist positions for internal promotion

The Maresme County Council has approved the rules and the call for a competitive examination to fill, via internal promotion, two senior technician positions classified under subgroup A1, assigned to the position of Economist (CCM075). The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on August 27, 2026, with official reference CVE 202610134932, and opens a period of twenty calendar days to submit applications.

The agreement was adopted by the Plenary of the corporation in an ordinary session on July 21, 2026. The positions, for career civil servants of the special administration scale, are assigned to the Area of Governance, Transparency, and Internal Services and appear in the 2026 Public Employment Offer of the Maresme County Council.

Requirements to participate

The process is addressed exclusively to career civil servants of the same corporation, with a technical and economic profile. Applicants must meet the following requirements by the end of the deadline:

• Be a career civil servant of the Maresme County Council in subgroup A2, in positions linked to economic, budgetary, financial, accounting, or treasury management functions.
• Have a minimum seniority of two years of active service in these positions.
• Be in active service, on special leave, or in service in other public administrations.
• Hold an official university degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in the field of economics, business, or finance.
• Accredit Catalan language knowledge at level C1 (or pass the corresponding test).
• Pay the registration fee of €25.00 established by Fiscal Ordinance number 6.

How to submit the application

Applications shall be submitted, preferably electronically and in a single PDF document, through the procedures portal on the Maresme County Council website, or at the General Registry of the corporation, at the Citizen Service Office at Plaça Miquel Biada, 1, Mataró. The deadline is twenty calendar days counting from the day after the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC).

The application must be accompanied by the standardized form in Annex 3, the required qualification, accreditation of the Catalan level, proof of payment of the fee, and a numbered list of merits. The accreditation of seniority will be carried out ex officio by the human resources service.

The job position and the process

The position of Economist is assigned a level 22 destination supplement and a specific supplement of €1,262.59. Specific functions include managing relationships with financial entities, monitoring the corporation’s debt, accounting for budgetary and non-budgetary operations, preparing tax returns, and participating in the drafting of budgets.

Once the deadline has passed, the Presidency will issue a resolution within a maximum period of one month with the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates, which will be published on the corporation’s electronic notice board. Applicants will have ten calendar days to submit allegations. The rules also provide for gender equality measures, adaptations for people with a disability of 33% or higher, and protection for victims of gender-based violence.

The call represents an opportunity for internal promotion for civil servants of the region with an economic profile, who can access a position of higher technical responsibility without leaving the same administration. Simultaneous publication in the BOPB, the DOGC, and on the electronic notice board guarantees transparency and publicity for all phases of the selection process.
