The Monfragüe Leader increases non-agricultural grants to one million
Por FactBox Admin

The Board of Directors of the Association for the Development of Monfragüe and its Surroundings (ADEME) has increased the credit for its 1st call for Leader 2023-2027 grants from 700,000 to 1,000,000 euros, aimed at productive projects for the creation and development of companies and non-agricultural activities in rural areas. The increase of 300,000 euros is formalized through the modification of the summary published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) No. 202, dated October 20, 2026, in section III of Other Resolutions, with official reference 2026062594.
An increase approved in two steps
The expansion agreement was adopted by the Board of Directors of GAL ADEME on September 15, 2026, and was authorized by the Directorate General for Rural Development of the Regional Government of Extremadura on September 28, 2026. The modified summary was signed in Mérida on October 1, 2026, by the Secretary General, María de la Concepción Montero Gómez.
The call is based on Decree 78/2024, of July 23, which regulates the grant system under the Leader methodology and the management procedure within the framework of the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy of Spain 2023-2027. Article 28.5 allows for the increase of the amount assigned to a call through credit expansions, provided they are authorized by the competent governing body for rural development before the granting is resolved and within the limits of Law 6/2011, of March 23, on Grants of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
The original summary was published on February 6, 2026, in DOE No. 25, with a credit of 700,000 euros. The modification only affects the fourth section, regarding the amount, and is disseminated in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17.
Up to 60% of the investment and 200,000 euros per project
The new text establishes the economic conditions of the grant line:
- Total amount of the call: 1,000,000 euros.
- Budgetary application: 120030000/G/314A/78000/FR23771900/20230313, according to the credit availability of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community.
- Maximum grant intensity: 60% of the eligible investment.
- Maximum limit per project: 200,000 euros.
- Identification in the National Grants Database: BDNS 884265.
The full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database, under the General State Administration.
A call already in process
The line is part of Intervention 7119 Leader of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027, co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), the Regional Government of Extremadura, and the General State Administration, and is managed by the Local Action Groups.
The first call for ADEME is already in the instruction phase. On August 20, 2026, the president of the association, Francisco Javier Sánchez Vega, notified requests for correction to applicants of this same line, with a non-extendable deadline of ten business days, according to the announcement published in the DOE no. 167, of August 28, 2026, with reference 2026081455. Among the requested entities are Dental Beatriz Pérez, SLP, Lalamala, SL, Bosque Urbano, SL, Marla Motor, SL, Reinventando El Campo, SL, and the Sociedad Cooperativa Limitada Nuestra Señora de Tebas de Casas de Millán.
The expansion arrives, therefore, with the procedure open and before the granting resolution, which is precisely the margin enabled by Decree 78/2024.
A breath of fresh air for rural entrepreneurship
The increase in credit expands the initial allocation by 43% and provides more room for projects already competing for these grants in the territory of Monfragüe and its surroundings, an area marked by depopulation and the weight of the primary sector. For entrepreneurs and small businesses in rural areas, the line covers up to 60% of the investment with a ceiling of 200,000 euros per project, a decisive support in the creation and modernization of non-agricultural businesses.
