The Insular Institute of Sports appoints its new architect

The Insular Institute of Sports of Gran Canaria has appointed Ricardo Pereira Pérez de los Cobos as a career civil servant in Architect position number 2, a key technical role for the management of the island’s sports infrastructure. The decision was adopted by Decree of the President of the Insular Institute of Sports of Gran Canaria 2026-0446, dated August 27, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 105, dated September 2, 2026.
The appointment takes place within the framework of the Special Administration technical sub-scale of the body, and entails the definitive assignment of the Head of the Architecture Service position within the Institute’s Job Position Relationship. The decree is signed by the president of the organization, Aridany Romero Vega, dated August 28, 2026.
An A1-level technical position
The Architect position corresponds to subgroup A1, the highest category of the civil service scale, reserved for those with higher degrees. Its occupation strengthens the Institute’s technical capacity to plan, supervise, and maintain the island’s sports facilities.

Filling this vacancy consolidates the personnel structure of the Institute, which manages the network of sports facilities dependent on the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.
The position of Head of the Architecture Service involves the technical direction of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects for the facilities, as well as the coordination of the work teams linked to the organization’s architecture.
