IMGEMA calls for an urgent technician pool for the Botanical Garden

The Municipal Institute of Environmental Management Botanical Garden of Córdoba (IMGEMA) has approved the regulatory bases for an urgent call to establish a job bank for Technician of the Technical Unit (Level II). The decision was adopted by Resolution No. 2026/15452, dated September 9, 2026, from the Presidency of the organization, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba No. 180, dated September 17, 2026, with the official reference BOP-A-2026-3109. Interested parties have ten business days from the day following that publication to submit their application.

An urgent call with already authorized expenditure

The resolution, signed in Córdoba on September 10, 2026, by the president of IMGEMA, Miguel Ruiz Madruga, approves the bases, authorizes the expenditure, and orders the publication of the call in the provincial gazette, on the electronic headquarters of the Córdoba City Council, and on the institute’s notice board.

The total authorized amount for remuneration and the employer’s Social Security contribution amounts to €6,665.88, charged to budget applications 04 17001 13100 and 04 17001 16000, through credit retention with CSV uVOFmNpnfBuakgBzb2t5r9NHPSrEKh.

The contract will be for temporary labor personnel, with the legally established working day for IMGEMA staff, and the position is classified under subgroup A2-Level II.

Requirements and admitted qualifications

Those who meet the general requirements for access to public employment and hold, or are in a position to obtain before the deadline, a university Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any of the following fields may participate:

• Forestry Engineering.
• Agronomic Engineering.
• Environmental Sciences.
• Biology.

Foreign qualifications must have validation or homologation and an attached translation. Persons with disabilities will be admitted on equal terms and may request adaptations regarding time and means.

Applications shall be submitted according to the model in Annex I, addressed to the Presidency of IMGEMA, through the municipal electronic headquarters (sede.cordoba.es) or via any of the channels specified in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015. They must be accompanied by a copy of the ID (DNI), a copy of the qualification, responsible declarations of functional capacity, of not having been dismissed from public service, and of not incurring incompatibility, in addition to Annex III for the scoring of merits.

Competitive examination based on 100 points

The selection system is a competitive examination (concurso-oposición), with a maximum of 100 points: 60 for the examination and 40 for the merit competition.

• Opposition phase (60 points): a single mandatory and eliminatory one-hour multiple-choice exercise, with 50 questions plus 5 reserve questions and four alternative answers. Each correct answer is worth 0.20 points, and a minimum of 6 out of 10 is required to avoid elimination.
• Competition phase (40 points): up to 12 points for training (maximum 5 for courses directly related to the position and 7 for transversal courses) and up to 28 points for professional experience, at a rate of 0.25 points per full month in Public Administration (cap of 18) and 0.15 points per month in the private sector (cap of 10).

The Selection Board will consist of a president who is a career civil servant, four members who are public employees, and the secretary of IMGEMA, who will attend with a voice but no vote. Ties will be resolved by the score of the opposition phase, followed by experience and training, and finally by alphabetical order derived from the annual draw published in the Official State Gazette.

Functions and validity of the pool

The position covers, among other tasks, the drafting of specifications and contractual documentation, the processing of minor purchase files, technical assistance to the Gardening Unit, the drafting of gardening installation projects, and technical-legal support in administrative procedures.

The resulting pool will be valid for four years from its approval. Calls will be made in strict order of score, via telephone notice or email, with a period of two business days to express interest; silence will be understood as a withdrawal.

The call is issued via urgent procedure and with an unusually short application period, meaning that graduates in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Agronomic Engineering, or Forestry interested in municipal public employment in Córdoba have barely ten business days to formalize their application. Furthermore, the pool does not cover a single specific position: it organizes temporary hires for IMGEMA over the next four years, meaning its composition conditions labor access to the Royal Botanical Garden of Córdoba in the medium term.
