The Albacete IMD allocates 202,000 euros in grants for sports clubs

The Albacete Municipal Sports Institute (IMD) has approved the specific guidelines for the call for grants for the sports promotion of clubs, entities, and sports foundations for the 2025/2026 season, with a budget of 202,000 euros. The agreement was adopted by the IMD Governing Board on September 29, 2026, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of the province of Albacete number 118, dated October 9, 2026, with the identifier BDNS 932939.

The call is based on articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database. The managing body is the Albacete City Council, through the Albacete Municipal Sports Institute, and the reference regulatory guidelines were published in the BOP of Albacete on November 28, 2018. The signature block of the agreement corresponds to the IMD Governing Board, in Albacete, dated September 29, 2026.

Amount and financing

The amount allocated for these purposes totals 202,000 euros, of which 125,000 euros are reserved for team sports and 77,000 euros for the individual sports modality. Any remaining amount in one of the two modalities may increase the allocation of the other if the latter does not reach its maximum.

These grants will be financed from budget item 34110 4890000 (grants to sports clubs and associations) of the Municipal Sports Institute budgets corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year.

Who can apply and what is subsidized

Clubs, sports entities, and foundations for the promotion of high-level sports activities within the municipality of Albacete that meet the following requirements may apply:

• Be legally constituted, with their own legal personality and non-profit status.
• Have their registered office in the city of Albacete.
• Be registered in the Castilla-La Mancha Registry of sports clubs and/or in the foundations registry of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha.
• Submit a single application per entity, which will encompass all its participating sections.

Sports entities belonging to public or private universities and sports public limited companies (SAD) are excluded.

In team sports, the following are subsidized: the participation of absolute category teams in national-level leagues of 10 or more matchdays; teams in the highest regional categories of 16 or more matchdays that have competed outside the provincial territory and are included in the 2025/2026 Municipal Sports Schools Program; and junior or youth teams in the national category of 26 or more matchdays, as well as clubs that, from a regional category, have achieved promotion to the national category for the 2026/2027 season with a minimum of 22 matchdays.

In individual sports, the following are considered: the absolute category for teams in national leagues of Olympic sports; the Spanish team championships in the absolute or second category and juniors in official international championships of Olympic individual sports; and non-Olympic sports in national leagues, absolute Spanish championships, and official international competitions or those included in the EDM Program 2025/2026. In this modality, the club must have participated with at least 4 athletes.

Deadlines and justification

Applications and annexes shall be submitted to the IMD Registry and through the other means provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, within a period of 15 calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the extract in the Official Gazette of the province of Albacete. If the last day of the period is a non-working day, it shall be understood as extended to the first following working day.

Justification shall be carried out once the activity has concluded and, in any case, at most within three months following the approval of the 2025/2026 grants by agreement of the Governing Board of the Municipal Institute of Sports. Failure to comply with any of the contents of the call will be valued negatively for the granting of subsidies in the following year.

The distribution of these 202,000 euros conditions the economic planning of the city’s top-level clubs, which face the season with this line of municipal support for official competition and sports school programs. Interested entities have two weeks from publication to formalize their single application before the IMD.
