El IFAPA convoca contratos laborales para proyectos de I+D+F agrarios y pesqueros

The Presidency of the Andalusian Institute for Research and Training in Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Organic Production (IFAPA) has issued a new call for employment contracts within the framework of specific R&D&T projects, published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Andalusia (BOJA) number 175, dated September 9, 2026. The resolution, signed on August 31, 2026, is included in the section for competitive examinations, contests, and other calls of the gazette, under the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development.

IFAPA is the Andalusian public body dedicated to research, training, and knowledge transfer in the agricultural, fisheries, food, and organic production sectors. The call is part of a hiring line for research and technical personnel linked to specific research, development, and innovation projects, a common route used by the institute to incorporate talent into its centers and experimental farms distributed throughout Andalusia.

A call within a summer series

The resolution published on September 9 is not an isolated case. During the summer of 2026, the Presidency of IFAPA has been launching equivalent calls for employment contracts for specific R&D&T projects, reflecting a staggered hiring process throughout the fiscal year:

  • Resolution of July 1, 2026, published in BOJA no. 131, dated July 9, with a subsequent correction of errors disseminated in BOJA no. 170, dated September 2.
  • Resolutions of August 19, 2026, published in BOJA no. 167, dated August 28.
  • Resolutions of August 24 and 27, 2026, published in BOJA no. 170, dated September 2.
  • Resolution of August 24, 2026, published in BOJA no. 171, dated September 3.

The new call, identified as text no. 11624 and spanning nine pages, thus adds to a hiring calendar that seeks to cover the staffing needs of the institute’s various research projects.

Opportunity for agricultural and fisheries researchers

These calls represent a gateway to employment for researchers, technicians, and support staff in the field of Andalusian agricultural, fisheries, and food research. The contracts are formalized within the framework of specific R&D&T projects, meaning the positions are linked to concrete lines of work at IFAPA, which has centers and experimental farms in the eight Andalusian provinces.

The candidate profile is aimed at graduates and qualified personnel in agricultural, biological, veterinary, fisheries, and food sciences, as well as laboratory and field technicians. Publication in the BOJA ensures the publicity and competitiveness of the positions, in accordance with the principles of equality, merit, and capacity that govern hiring in the Andalusian public sector.

Relevance for the Andalusian agri-food sector

The hiring of research personnel at IFAPA is key to maintaining and transferring innovation in one of the strategic sectors of the Andalusian economy, namely the agri-food and fisheries sector. The incorporation of researchers into specific R&D&I projects strengthens the institute’s capacity to generate applied knowledge, improve the competitiveness of farms, and respond to the challenges of sustainability and organic production.

For professionals in the scientific-technical field, this call, along with those published during the summer, represents a concrete opportunity to join regional public research. Interested parties should pay close attention to the deadlines and requirements detailed in the full text of the resolution, published in BOJA number 175, dated September 9, 2026.
