The ICA reopens the deadline for audiovisual grants until October
Por FactBox Admin

The Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts of the Region of Murcia (ICA) has reopened the application period for its financial grants intended for the production of audiovisual works for cinema, television, and digital platforms. This is established by the Resolution of the Director General of the ICA dated September 4, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) number 210, dated September 11, 2026, which modifies the original call for applications from December 9, 2025.
The decision comes after the beneficiary BIOPIC FILMS S.L. waived its status as a beneficiary on July 21, 2026, a waiver accepted by resolution of the Director General of the ICA on July 28, 2026. The released credit now allows for the support of new projects with a total allocation of 700,000 euros.
A restructured call for applications
The original call, published in BORM no. 287, dated December 13, 2025, provided for a credit of one million euros divided into three lines. Following the waiver and the reallocation of funds, the total amount allocated for this purpose is set at 700,000 euros, structured into two lines:
- Line A: 500,000 euros.
- Line B: 200,000 euros.
Any remaining credit from one line will be assigned to the other that has a lack of funds, starting with category A and then B. The resolution also modifies Article 4, extending the execution period for projects submitted within the new deadline until June 30, 2029.
New deadline and excluded categories
The new application submission period will begin the day following the publication of the resolution in the BORM and will end on October 30, 2026. However, the resolution expressly excludes the documentary feature film category from this new period, as the credit allocated to it has been exhausted.
The call is processed under a competitive bidding regime, and its summary is published in accordance with Articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies. The full text can be consulted in the National Subsidy Database (BDNS), with identifier 873724.
Regulatory framework and signature
The resolution is issued in the exercise of the competence attributed to the General Directorate of the ICA by Article 51.2.i) of Law 14/2012, of December 27, in relation to Article 17 of Law 7/2005, of November 18, on Subsidies of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia. The document, with official reference NPE: A-110926-4346, is signed by the Director General of the ICA, Manuel Cebrián López, and enters into force the day after its publication in the BORM.
Impact for the sector
The reopening of the deadline represents a new opportunity for film, television, and digital platform producers in the Region of Murcia, who will be able to apply for public funding for their projects until the end of October. Furthermore, the extension of the execution period until mid-2029 provides greater leeway for the development of subsidized audiovisual works, strengthening the regional audiovisual fabric.
