The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment has published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands Resolution 9132, of September 9, 2026, by which the beneficiaries and the amounts granted within the framework of the Local Product Consumption Stimulus Program through direct marketing in the primary sector and the agri-food industry of the Balearic Islands, known as Local Product Vouchers 2026, are recognized. The resolution, signed by the counselor Joan Simonet Pons, was published in issue 114 of the gazette, corresponding to September 12, 2026, in section III, page 49443.
A program to boost local consumption
The program was approved by means of Order 8/2026, of May 20, published in BOIB no. 64 on May 21, 2026, which establishes the regulatory bases and the call for applications. The objective is to promote the consumption of local and proximity products through a voucher campaign aimed at consumers residing in the Balearic Islands, which took place from June 8 to August 7, 2026.
The economic amount of the call was 909,250.00 euros, charged to budget item 20401 714COM48000 00 of the general budgets of the Autonomous Community, corresponding to the 2025 financial year, extended for the year 2026. Once the campaign ended, the total amount of aid effectively granted was 833,860.00 euros.
Who can be a beneficiary and how the vouchers work
According to Order 8/2026, beneficiaries are natural persons residing in the Balearic Islands who are 18 years of age or older at the start of their participation in the campaign. Each person may have a maximum of ten vouchers, with a maximum total value of one hundred euros, provided that funds are available.
- Each voucher has a discount value of ten euros on a minimum purchase of twenty euros.
- Vouchers are only subsidizable when they have been applied during the validity period of the campaign.
- They constitute non-repayable grants, without prejudice to the cases of reimbursement that legally correspond.
- The granting of the aid is understood to have occurred at the moment of the effective activation of the voucher on the web platform, without the need for an express individual resolution.
Management and processing of the aid
The General Directorate of Agri-food Quality and Local Product is the body responsible for processing the aid and for the supervision and control of the correct execution of the program. The management and distribution of the subsidizable funds are carried out with the collaboration of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Mallorca, which has provided the information regarding the vouchers effectively used and validated through the management platform.
Interested consumers had to register on the enabled web platform, provide the corresponding identification data, and declare that they met the requirements established in the call. Once the application was validated, the platform generated the corresponding vouchers. The amount individually granted to each beneficiary is that which corresponds to the vouchers effectively exchanged and validated during the campaign, with a maximum limit of one hundred euros per person.
Appeals and publication
Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment within a period of one month counting from the day after its publication. A contentious-administrative appeal may also be filed directly before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands within a period of two months.
The resolution represents the administrative closure of a campaign that has mobilized nearly 834,000 euros in discounts for the consumption of local products, a figure that reflects the direct impact on the primary and agri-food sector of the Islands and on resident consumers, in a context of extraordinary measures to address the economic consequences derived from the war in the Middle East.
