The Government entrusts the Agriculture office to Economy during Ordeig's absence

The Government of the Generalitat has approved the entrustment of the office of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food to the Minister of Economy and Finance while the head, Òscar Ordeig i Molist, remains outside of Catalonia. The measure is detailed in Decree 158/2026, of September 4, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat of Catalonia (DOGC) no. 9748 on September 9, 2026, with reference CVE-DOGC-A-26250038-2026.

The minister’s absence extends from September 9 to 16, 2026, and during this period, Minister Alícia Romero Llano will be in charge of the Department’s office. The decree, signed by President Salvador Illa i Roca, is based on article 12.1.k) of Law 13/2008, of November 5, on the presidency of the Generalitat and the Government, which regulates the substitution of ministers in case of absence.

The provision is framed within the substitution regime provided for by the regulations of the presidency of the Generalitat. The decree establishes a single article that specifies the entrustment of the office throughout the minister’s period of absence.

The document, dated in Barcelona on September 4, 2026, is signed by:

• Salvador Illa i Roca, President of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
• Albert Dalmau Miranda, Minister of the Presidency, who signs by substitution by virtue of Decree 146/2026, of August 31 (DOGC no. 9743, of 2.9.2026).

Scope of the entrustment

The entrustment of the office implies that the Minister of Economy and Finance assumes the ordinary management of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food while the titular minister is outside of Catalonia. This measure ensures the administrative continuity of the department during the absence.
