El Gordo tenders the bar-kitchen of its municipal pool for 2027-2030

The El Gordo City Council has opened a competitive bidding process for the operation of the municipal swimming pool’s bar-kitchen service for the years 2027 to 2030. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0170, dated September 4, 2026, and stems from the Mayoral Resolution of August 28, 2026, which approves the specific administrative clauses.

The concession is processed as an administrative contract under file 2026/0251, and the specifications are available to interested parties on the municipal electronic office (elgordo.sedelectronica.es). The deadline for submitting bids is 30 business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement.

Fee and economic conditions

The annual fee to be paid by the concessionaire amounts to 1,000.00 euros (4,000.00 euros in total for the four years), an amount that may be improved upwards in the bids. Payment is split by annual installments:

• 2027: at the time of formalizing the contract.
• 2028: between January 1 and January 15, 2028.
• 2029: between January 1 and January 15, 2029.
• 2030: between January 1 and January 15, 2030.

Additionally, a bond of 700.00 euros is required, which shall be paid in a single payment prior to the formalization of the contract. The concession shall not be extendable nor subject to price reviews.

Requirements and obligations of the awardee

Natural or legal persons with the capacity to contract, who are up to date with payments to the El Gordo City Council and registered under the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers, may apply. The basic obligations of the concessionaire include:

• Assuming the maintenance, daily cleaning, and upkeep of the facilities.
• Complying with health regulations and the prevention of alcohol consumption by minors.
• Taking charge of the electricity bill and the repair of furniture and appliances.
• Contracting civil liability insurance and an alarm system for the establishment.
• Remaining open, at a minimum, during the swimming pool’s opening hours during the summer season.

The awardee may freely set the prices of the items and shall be entitled to compensation in the event of the rescue or suppression of the service.

Contracting board and award

Price will be the sole criterion for determining the most economically advantageous offer; in the event of a tie, the proposal submitted first to the municipal registry will be considered. The opening of bids will take place in a public act at 10:00 hours on the first business Wednesday following the end of the deadline, before the Contracting Board composed of the mayor or delegated councilor and the members María Felicidad Martín Martín, María Encinas Iñarra, the Secretary-Auditor, and the secretary María Azucena Rodríguez Miranda. The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Pedro Javier Gutiérrez Recas.

The call represents a business opportunity for freelancers and hospitality operators in the region, who will be able to operate a seasonal service with a reduced fee and without extensions, in a municipality that bets on competitive bidding to guarantee the management of its public facilities.
