El Ejido announces a vacancy for a Senior Social Integration Technician

The El Ejido City Council has published the rules for the competitive examination to permanently fill one position as a Senior Social Integration Technician within the civil service staff. The call for applications appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Almería, number 194, dated October 7, 2026, within the Local Administration section, under official reference 2582/26. The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the BOE.

The position is included in the 2023 Public Employment Offer, approved by Mayor’s Resolution on December 18, 2023, and published in the BOP of Almería, number 243, dated December 21, 2023. The rules were signed in El Ejido on July 30, 2026, by the First Deputy Mayor acting as Mayor-President, José Francisco Rivera Callejón.

Position Characteristics and Requirements

• Designation: Senior Social Integration Technician, one position.
• Group: B, Special Administration Scale, Technical Subscale, Middle Technician class.
• Required Qualification: Senior Social Integration Technician or a legally recognized equivalent within the national territory.
• Other requirements: Spanish nationality or nationality of a European Union member state, functional capacity, at least 16 years of age, and not having been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings nor being disqualified.

The legal framework refers to Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Basic Statute of Public Employees; Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime; Law 5/2023, of June 7, on the Public Service of Andalusia, and Decree 51/2025, of February 24.

Submission of Applications

Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor-President and submitted preferably via the electronic Registry of the El Ejido City Council, through its Virtual Office, or at the municipal General Registry. The deadline for electronic submission expires at 23:59 hours on the final day. The payment of examination fees is a prerequisite for admission, in accordance with Ordinance No. 27 on fees for participation in selective tests.

Once the deadline has passed, the Mayor-President will issue a resolution within a maximum period of one month containing the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates, which will be published at www.elejido.es and on the Digital Notice Board. A correction period of ten business days will then be opened.

Competition and Examination

The selection system consists of two phases:

• Competitive Merit (maximum 10 points): professional merits, up to 5 points, and specific complementary training, up to 5 points. It is not eliminatory and is assessed after the competitive examination.
• Competitive Examination (maximum 40 points): three eliminatory exercises — a questionnaire of 50 questions on common subjects in 90 minutes, another of 100 questions on specific subjects in 120 minutes, and two practical cases.

The syllabus is divided into a block of common subjects, with 12 topics, and a block of specific subjects, with 40 topics focused on community and intercultural mediation, social services, family, minors, the elderly, disability, and social exclusion. The tribunal will consist of a president, four members, and a secretary, who has a voice but no vote.

Relevance

The call opens a stable public employment route for graduates in social integration and mediation in the municipality of El Ejido, where the position is intended for social intervention and community mediation functions. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against the rules within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.
