The director of Inspection of the Anti-Corruption Office of Navarre resigns

The director of the Office of Good Practices and Anti-Corruption of the Chartered Community of Navarre, Edurne Eginoa Antxo, has agreed to the cessation, at his own request, of Iván Razquin Tarazona as director of the Inspection, Investigation and Sanctioning Regime Service, the body responsible for investigating foral public officeholders and civil servants. The decision is formalized in RESOLUTION 55/2026, of 28 July, published in the Official Gazette of Navarre number 160, of 14 August 2026. The cessation takes effect from 31 July 2026, the last day of service in the post.

Razquin Tarazona is a civil servant at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) and held the service directorship on secondment, a temporary assignment that had been extended. The resolution is issued in exercise of the functions attributed to the director by Foral Law 7/2018, of 17 May, establishing the Office of Good Practices and Anti-Corruption of the Chartered Community of Navarre, and is included in the section on cessations, appointments and other situations of the gazette.

A year at the head of the control service

The outgoing director was appointed to the post in June 2025, within an administrative process that unfolded in several milestones:

• Resolution 1260/2025, of 20 June, of the rector of the UPNA, authorized the secondment for a period of one year, counting from 1 July 2025.
• Resolution 24/2025, of 23 June, of the director of the Office, appointed Iván Razquin Tarazona director of the Investigation, Inspection and Sanctioning Regime Service.
• Resolution 1278/2026, of 5 June, of the rector of the UPNA, extended the secondment for performance of the same post.

On 13 July 2026, the interested party communicated his intention to cease, with effect from 31 July 2026.

A key post for public control

The Inspection, Investigation and Sanctioning Regime Service is the investigative arm of the Office of Good Practices and Anti-Corruption, body created by Foral Law 7/2018 to ensure the integrity of the Foral Administration: it processes complaints about conduct of elected officials and public employees and channels the sanctioning regime. With the departure of its director, the post remains vacant; the resolution does not designate a successor nor detail the procedure for filling it.

The agreements of the resolution

RESOLUTION 55/2026 contains three agreements:

• To order the cessation, at his own request, of Iván Razquin Tarazona as director of the Service, with effect from 31 July 2026, this being the last day of his service.
• To notify the resolution to the interested party and to the rector of the Public University of Navarre, for the appropriate purposes.
• To publish the resolution in the Official Gazette of Navarre, for general information.

The resolution is signed in Pamplona / Iruña on 28 July 2026 by the director of the Office, Edurne Eginoa Antxo.

The departure of Razquin Tarazona leaves vacant one of the most sensitive positions in the Navarrese public control system, precisely the body that investigates office holders and civil servants. The replacement will depend on a new agreement between the regional government and the UPNA, holder of the position of the removed official, and its coverage will be decisive for institutional transparency.
