El CTAZ relanza la convocatoria de la plaza de Responsable de Transportes

The Zaragoza Area Transport Consortium (CTAZ) has published a new call for the provision of the position of Transport Manager, after the previous one remained vacant. The announcement, agreed upon by the consortium’s Executive Commission in its session on July 20, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 194, dated October 6, 2026, with the official reference BOA20261006026.

The text, signed in Zaragoza on September 24, 2026, by the managing director of the organization, Javier Jiménez Mateo, is limited to declaring the new call open and refers to the consortium’s website (https://www.ctaz.es) to consult the rules that will govern the process.

The call that has now concluded was directed at personnel from the consortiumed Administrations and was published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 175, dated September 9, 2026, with the reference BOA20260909022. That announcement was based on Article 121 of Law 40/2015, of October 1, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector, which regulates the provision of positions through selection among personnel from consortiumed administrations. Since the position was not filled, the Executive Commission agreed to reactivate the procedure.

A position returning to the board

  • Deciding body: the Executive Commission of the CTAZ, in the session of July 20, 2026.
  • Position: Transport Manager of the consortium.
  • Publication: Official Gazette of Aragon number 194, dated October 6, 2026, section V (Announcements), section b) Other announcements.
  • Official reference: BOA20261006026.
  • Background: previous vacant call, published in the BOA number 175, dated September 9, 2026 (BOA20260909022).
  • Signature: Javier Jiménez Mateo, managing director, Zaragoza, September 24, 2026.

The consortium and its scope of action

The CTAZ is the body that manages the interurban public transport services of a metropolitan nature in the Zaragoza area. According to the official documentation of the consortium itself, these services are owned by the Government of Aragon, but they have a tariff system differentiated from the rest of the interurban services.

The consortium maintains a series of financing agreements with the current concessionaires for the services provided, through which it periodically settles the agreed operating deficits with the operators. Furthermore, the CTAZ is among the beneficiaries of the direct aid provided for in Order VFL/1265/2026, of July 31, which develops the compensations for the reduction in the price of season tickets and multi-trip tickets established in Royal Decree-Law 1/2025, of January 28.

Other open processes in the organization

The consortium’s personnel activity is not limited to this position. The Official Gazette of Aragon number 181, dated September 17, 2026 (BOA20260917017), published the call for the provision of the position of Head of the Citizenship and Digitalization Area of the CTAZ, agreed upon by the Executive Commission in the session of May 12, 2025, and also signed by Javier Jiménez Mateo on September 3, 2026.

Both announcements share the same scheme: prior agreement by the executive body, publication of the announcement in the official gazette, and referral to the guidelines available on the consortium’s website.

What it means for interested parties

The new call reopens the path to fill a technical management position in the body that organizes metropolitan transport in Zaragoza. The announcement does not detail deadlines or requirements: all practical information remains in the hands of the guidelines published at https://www.ctaz.es.

For the personnel of the consortiumed administrations, the publication represents a second opportunity to apply for a position that remained vacant in the first attempt. For the consortium, the reactivation of the process prevents a key position in the management of metropolitan transport from remaining vacant, in a context marked by financing agreements with concessionaires and by state and regional aid for public transport passes.
