The CSD announces 700,000 euro grants for female athletes

The Higher Council for Sports (CSD) has announced social grants for female athletes, technicians, coaches, referees, and judges for the year 2026, with a maximum allocation of 700,000 euros. The call is published via an extract of the Resolution of September 10, 2026, from its Presidency in the Official State Gazette number 226, of September 12, 2026, section V-B, page 48164 (official reference BOE-B-2026-29712).

The extract, identified in the National Grants Database under number 928841, is disseminated in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text can be consulted in the national grants database itself.

Beneficiaries and Purpose

The target group consists of women who are athletes, technicians, coaches, referees, or judges and who meet the requirements set out in the call. The objective is to boost the participation of women in the professional sports arena, facilitate the reconciliation of their family, academic, and professional lives, encourage their return to their sporting career after motherhood, and promote their specialized training in the field of sports.

Four Grant Lines

The call organizes four lines of funding:

• Safe gestation and reintegration: exclusive grants for high-level female athletes (DAN) or high-performance athletes (DAR) to finance the necessary services during pregnancy and postpartum to achieve a better return to sporting activity.
• Birth, adoption, and foster care: grants for DAN/DAR, technicians, coaches, referees, or judges for birth, adoption, guardianship for adoption purposes, or foster care, temporary or permanent, with a duration of no less than one year, provided that the triggering event occurred during 2025.
• Reconciliation of sporting and family life: grants for the care during 2026 of sons and daughters under three years of age, children with a recognized disability equal to or greater than 33% up to 18 years of age, and relatives up to the second degree in a dependency situation of Grade II, III, and III+ according to Law 39/2006, of December 14.
• Sports training: grants for training for the 2025-2026 academic year, aimed at starting or continuing studies leading to an official degree or certificate valid throughout the national territory.

Amount and Deadline

The maximum amount is financed from the extended budgets for 2026, under the budget application Program 336A, concept 486.06, for a total of 700,000.00 euros. The regulatory bases are Order ECD/2681/2012, of December 12, which approves the bases for the granting of subsidies and grants by the CSD.

Applications must be submitted within 10 business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOE. The resolution was signed in Madrid on September 10, 2026, by the president of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes.

The call reinforces public support for women’s sports at a time of consolidation of equality in the sporting arena, with specific measures for maternity, work-life balance, and the training of women who develop their careers in sports, both in competition and in technical and refereeing bodies.
