Por FactBox Admin

The Lanzarote Water Consortium has definitively awarded €148,139.64 in subsidies aimed at reducing the price of water paid by consumers in the primary sector of the island. Resolution number 2026-0215, issued on 7 August 2026, has been published as a notice (number 2,717) in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 97, of 14 August 2026, within Section III of Local Administration, on page 14658 (record 1704087).
The grant falls under file 555/2025, corresponding to the Consortium’s call for subsidies under competitive bidding aimed at the primary sector to reduce the price of water, registered in the National Subsidies Database with identifier BDNS 879059. The total amount is paid under budget item 161 47200, within the available credit, and is distributed among the applications listed in Annex I of the resolution, which met the requirements set out in the regulatory bases and in the call for applications.
Beneficiaries and distribution of the aid
Annex I details the individual amounts by policy or meter, with beneficiaries ranging from individual holders to farms and agricultural companies in Lanzarote. Among the highest amounts are:
- Manuel Peláez Sánchez: €7,588.32.
- Juan Ignacio Galán Robles: €7,305.60.
- Finca Vegacosta, S.L. (José Antonio Morales Cáceres): €4,934.88.
- Julio César Viñas Pérez: €4,353.60.
- José Miguel Delgado Cabrera: €3,665.28.
Alongside them are companies such as Agrícola Clanovi, S.L., Agrolanzarote, S.L., Finca Machinda, S.L., Bodegas Vega de Yuco, S.A.T., El Grifo, S.A., Pleamar Lanzarote, S.L. or Pastor de Tahiche Explotación Agrícola Ganadera, as well as numerous individual holders with several subsidised policies. Many beneficiaries accumulate aid for different supply contracts, reflecting the weight of water as a production cost on the island’s farms.
Rejections for failure to meet requirements
Annex II lists the applications whose final rejection is proposed for failing to meet the requirements of the regulatory bases and the call for applications. The reasons recorded in the file include:
- Not reaching the minimum consumption required in cubic metres.
- The policy not being in the name of the applicant.
- Failure to prove the minimum area required in square metres.
- Meters that began their activity in 2025, with no computable consumption in the period under assessment.
- Failure to correct within the deadline, or incomplete or insufficient correction of the request made.
Publication and collective notification
The resolution provides for the publication of the text and its annexes in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, as well as on the Notice Board and on the electronic office of the Lanzarote Water Consortium, for the purpose of collective notification of interested parties, and orders the continuation of the accounting, budgetary and administrative procedures necessary for the effectiveness of the aid. The notice is signed in Arrecife, on August 11, 2026, by the acting president by delegation of signature, Miguel Ángel Jiménez Cabrera.
The aid represents a direct relief for farmers and livestock breeders in Lanzarote, where the price of water is one of the most decisive structural costs for the primary sector. With this final concession, the Consortium closes the competitive procedure of file 555/2025 and publicly records the required criteria, which provides legal certainty both to the beneficiaries and to those who were left out for not proving consumption or surface area.
