The Toledo Consortium appoints 36 firefighter-drivers and one corporal

The president of the Provincial Consortium for Fire Extinction and Rescue of Toledo, Juan Carlos Sánchez Trujillo, has signed the decree appointing 36 firefighter-drivers from subgroup C1 and one corporal of the same category, all of whom come from the OPE 2024 selection process. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 180, dated September 21, 2026, with official reference No. I.-4246 and verification code 2026.00004246. The decree was signed in Toledo on September 15, 2026.

The appointment is issued once the supporting documentation of the capacity conditions and requirements demanded in base 9 of the call for the Firefighter-Driver OPE 2024 selection process, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 31, dated February 14, 2024, has been verified. The Consortium acts in accordance with article 34.1.h) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and with article 14 of its current statutes. The resolution is also signed by the acting secretary general, Jesús Prieto Sabugo.

One corporal and ten business days to take office

Along with the firefighter-drivers, the decree appoints Juan Carlos Torres Maxia to the category of corporal, also from subgroup C1.

The second section of the resolution sets a period of ten business days for taking possession, counted from the publication of the decree in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo. The act will take place at the CORE, located at calle Bachilleres number 10, 45003 Toledo. The third section orders the publication of the decree in the provincial gazette for the relevant purposes.

Staff reinforcement in the midst of the 2026 OPE

The incorporation of these 37 personnel occurs while the Consortium maintains another selection process open, corresponding to the 2026 Public Employment Offer, to fill 17 firefighter-driver positions via open competition. That call was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 110, dated June 15, 2026, and the employment offer in number 49, dated March 13, 2026.

The final list of admitted and excluded applicants for that process was approved by Decree No. 209/2026 and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 166, dated September 1, 2026, after resolving the allegations submitted during the correction period.

The reinforcement of the fire extinction and rescue service staff affects the entire province, as the Consortium is the competent administration in the matter for the adhering municipalities. The taking of possession by the new firefighter-drivers and the corporal will allow for the expansion of the provincial operational response capacity in the coming months.
