The Comú of Andorra la Vella opens the application period for sports grants 2026-2027

The Comú d’Andorra la Vella will open the application period on September 24 for grants destined for the organization and promotion of sporting activities and services developed in the parish during the 2026-2027 season. The period will extend until October 14, 2026, meaning 15 business days starting from the day after the publication of the call. The agreement was adopted by the Governing Board in the session of August 18, 2026, and is published in BOPA no. 107, dated September 23, 2026, in the notice of 18-8-2026 (reference QAS_2026_09_15_09_09_24).

Regulatory framework and budget allocation

The call is governed by the Ordinance of May 22, 2026, regulating the grants of the Comú d’Andorra la Vella (BOPA no. 53, dated May 27, 2026) and by the regulatory bases published with the notice, signed by the mayor, Sergi González Camacho.

Payment will be charged to two items of the Sports Activities and Programs Area (80101/34100/482100 – Promotion and Encouragement of Sport for Federations and Sports Clubs):

• 2026 Budget: 240,000.00 euros.
• 2027 Budget: 230,400.00 euros.

Who can apply and for which programs

Sports clubs, sports action sections, and non-profit sports groups, legally constituted and registered in the Register of Associations of the Government of Andorra and the Communal Register of Associations, may apply. The call provides for two programs:

• Program 1, promotion of sport in school age and youth sport, from July 2026 to June 2027, aimed at children from 6 to 16 years old and youth from 17 to 30 years old.
• Program 3, organization of specific and/or temporary sporting activities, from September 2026 to August 2027, open to all sectors of the population residing in or passing through the parish.

The evaluation criteria grant a maximum of 2,600 points for Program 1 and 800 points for Program 3; in both cases, a minimum of 400 points is required to qualify for the aid. Entities applying for a grant for the first time in the last three calendar years cannot exceed 5,000 euros for Program 1 nor 2,500 euros for Program 3. The communal grant cannot exceed 50% of the total budget of the activity for Program 1 nor 80% for Program 3.

Processing, resolution, and payments

Applications must be formalized in person at the offices of the Department of Procedures and Taxes of the Comú, using the standardized form and the specific documentation for each program. The Sports Department acts as the instructor, submits the proposal to the Sports Commission, and the latter forwards it to the Governing Board, which approves the grant. The maximum resolution period is two months from the end of the submission deadline, and the lack of an express resolution implies the dismissal of the application.

Payments for Program 1 are made in three installments: a first of approximately 50% upon the signing of the resolution, a second of 30% starting January 15, 2027, and a third of 20% starting June 30, 2027. In Program 3, there is a single payment, which is processed within fifteen days following the submission of the justification.

Information meeting and collaboration during school holidays

The guidelines provide for a presentation meeting in September 2026 to inform entities of the possibility of collaborating with the Comú in organizing activities for children and youth during the 2026-2027 school holiday season. Interested entities may only receive this support through a direct grant formalized in a collaboration agreement, which will establish the aid (use of facilities, transport, restaurants, and financial contributions).

The call reaches the clubs and entities of the parish with three weeks to prepare documentation that includes reports, budgets, and the 805 tax forms for the 2024 fiscal year. For entities that depend on these grants to sustain sports schools and events, the established calendar—with the resolution expected within two months following October 14—sets the planning for the entire season.
