The Cabildo de Tenerife announces three vacancies for Chemical Analysis

The Insular Directorate of Human Resources, Public Service, and Digital Transformation of the Insular Council of Tenerife, by Resolution of August 26, 2026, has approved the public call and the rules to fill, as career civil servants and through the open access track, three positions of Higher Grade Technician in Chemical Analysis, vacant in the civil servant staff of the Corporation. The announcement appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife number 106, of September 4, 2026, page 25000, with reference 1787331.
The call is part of the execution of the Public Employment Offers of the Insular Corporation for 2024 and 2026, and is subject to current legislation and the selective procedure detailed in the rules. The positions are classified under Group A, Subgroup A1, Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Special Assignments Class, Higher Technician Category A1.
Position Profile and Functions
For informative and illustrative purposes, the functions of the called position are oriented toward technical management in matters of qualification, with special attention to the enological and agri-food sectors of the island:
- Management, study, reporting, and proposal in matters of technical qualification, especially enological projects and wine-growing plans.
- Enology and differentiated quality, as well as agri-food analysis.
- Quality systems in laboratories, in accordance with the corresponding UNE standard.
- Preparation and management of Investment Plans, Programs, or Projects.
Requirements and Conditions for Participation
Those aspiring to the positions must meet, by the end of the application submission period and until the assumption of office, the following requirements:
- Be Spanish, a national of a European Union member state or assimilated, or a spouse and descendants under the terms provided in the rules.
- Be at least sixteen years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
- Hold one of the following qualifications: Degree in Chemistry, Degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemical Engineer, Degree in Pharmacy, or Degree in Biotechnology, or an equivalent qualification or corresponding university degree.
- Possess the functional capacity for the performance of the duties and a valid B driving license.
- Not have been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings nor be disqualified from public employment.
Examination fees amount to 23 euros, with exemptions for persons with a disability of 33% or more, job seekers under the provided conditions, and members of large families. Applications shall be submitted electronically through the electronic office of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, within a period of twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette.
Selection Process
The selection system will be a competitive examination (concurso-oposición), with a maximum score of 10 points. The examination phase, with a maximum of 6 points, consists of two mandatory and eliminatory exercises:
- First exercise, theoretical in nature: a multiple-choice questionnaire of 140 questions (135 ordinary and 5 reserve), with a weight of 30% of the phase.
- Second exercise, theoretical-practical: written resolution of two practical cases to be chosen from four, with a weight of 70% of the phase.
The merit phase, with a maximum of 4 points, will assess the professional and academic merits of those who have passed the examination. The call and its rules will be published in full in the Official Provincial Gazette, with an extract in the Official State Gazette, and announcements derived from the process will be disseminated on the Notice Board of the Electronic Office of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife.
