Por FactBox Admin

The Island Council of Tenerife has announced grants for the programming of the island’s art galleries for 2026, with a total allocation of 90,000 euros. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife number 103, dated August 28, 2026, with registration 1766520 and page 24228.
The grants are financed from the Council’s 2026 Budget and are intended for the organization of exhibitions, the publication of catalogs, and attendance or participation in national and international fairs and markets. The regulatory bases were approved by Agreement of the Island Government Council AC0000028331, dated August 5, 2026, and published in BOP number 98, dated August 17, 2026.
Beneficiaries and requirements
Collective (companies) and individual entrepreneurs registered under the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers, as well as non-profit entities, may apply for the grants, provided they are owners of art galleries with a registered office on the island of Tenerife. It is further required that the gallery opened before September 1, 2024, and that it proves continuous exhibition activity during the twelve months prior to the publication of the call.
- An art gallery is understood as a company or entity whose main activity is the exhibition of artworks open to the public for commercial purposes, with permanent equipment.
- A stable program of at least eight months between September 1, 2026, and August 31, 2027, must be proposed.
- In all cases, companies, entrepreneurs, and associations must be registered for the Economic Activities Tax corresponding to the activities subject to the grant.
Purpose and amount
The grants aim to contribute to the partial financing of expenses incurred by the exhibition activities of privately owned art galleries in Tenerife and to the projection of artists in national and international fairs and markets. The submitted projects must include at least 50% of work by artists who carry out their creative work on the island of Tenerife.
- 20,000 euros as the maximum limit for the organization of exhibitions.
- 10,000 euros as the maximum limit for the publication of catalogs.
- 10,000 euros as the maximum limit for attendance or participation in fairs and markets.
Expenses executed between September 1, 2026, and August 31, 2027, will be accepted. However, supporting invoices and payment documents may be dated from July 1, 2026, for those cases where advance payment is necessary, such as deposits or reservations for floor space and assembly at fairs, advances for the publication of catalogs and graphic material, or advance payments for the transport of works.
Deadline and submission
The application period will be twenty (20) calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the official bulletin. Once the application is completed, it must be accompanied by the documents required in section 9 of the regulations governing this call.
The call represents direct support for the island’s cultural fabric by allowing private art galleries to maintain their exhibition programming and provide projection for local artists within the national and international circuit. With a requirement of 50% of works by creators working in Tenerife, the measure also reinforces the visibility of insular talent and consolidates the Cabildo’s commitment to culture as an economic and social driver.
