El Cabildo de Lanzarote subvenciona la actividad cinegética con 140.000 euros

The Plenary of the Insular Council of Lanzarote and La Graciosa initially approved, in an ordinary session on September 29, 2026, the credit modification file number 2026-0017, which reserves 140,000 euros in a nominative grant for the Nueva Sociedad de Cazadores de Lanzarote. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 118, dated October 2, 2026, with the official reference 2.012.438.

The operation is processed as an extraordinary credit (electronic file 15964/2026) and amounts to 160,000 euros, all within chapter IV of current transfers of the expenditure statement. The funding comes from three sources: 135,000 euros from current expenses (chapter II), 5,000 euros from current transfers (chapter IV), and 20,000 euros from real investments (chapter VI).

The agreement also incorporates the nomination and inclusion in the Grants Annex of the budgetary applications 1704.48001, 410.48905, and 410.48906, and updates the Council’s Strategic Grants Plan. The hunting line is framed within strategic objective OE3, for the promotion of environmental sustainability and protection of natural heritage, while the aid for the primary sector responds to objective OE1, for sustainable economic development.

140,000 euros for hunting control and surveillance

Line 1704-1, “Grant for the promotion of hunting activity,” provides 140,000 euros to the Nueva Sociedad de Cazadores de Lanzarote (CIF G35280601), through a nominative grant. The stated purpose is to finance the control, management, and surveillance tasks of hunting practices on the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

The specific objective states that the support sustains the entity’s hunting surveillance service and allows for hunting-related advice to interested persons, companies, and public entities. It also includes support for the organization of hunting championships through the Canarian Hunting Federation.

20,000 euros for insular agricultural training

The same file includes two nominative grants of 10,000 euros each within line 410-10, for support of the island’s primary sector:

  • IES Teguise (Government of the Canary Islands): 10,000 euros for operating expenses of the agricultural branch training cycles.
  • CIFP Zonzamas (Government of the Canary Islands): 10,000 euros for operating expenses of the agricultural and viticulture branch training cycles.

Both grants seek to maintain the agrosystems necessary for the primary sector and strengthen local economic activity and employment.

Fifteen business days for allegations

In accordance with articles 169 and 177 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, a period of fifteen business days is opened to submit claims or suggestions to the Corporation. The period begins the day following the insertion of the announcement in the bulletin.

If no claims are submitted, the file will become final without the need for a new corporate agreement. The text is available to interested parties on the Electronic Office (Notice Board).

The announcement appears signed in Arrecife on September 30, 2026, by the managing director Miguel Ángel Jiménez Cabrera, by delegation of signature from the president of the Cabildo via Decree number 4715, of July 21, 2023.

The subsidy consolidates public support for hunting activities in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, a sector that the Cabildo links to the control of game populations and the management of the natural environment, and adds 20,000 euros for insular agricultural training. The file is now open for allegations prior to its final approval.
