The Cabildo de Gran Canaria allocates 1.35 million to employability for people with disabilities

The Island Council of Gran Canaria has announced grants totaling 1,350,000 euros intended for non-profit entities that develop multi-year projects to improve the employability of people with disabilities. The summary of the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 115, dated September 25, 2026, with registration number 1965099 and identification BDNS 931283. Applications may be submitted within a period of twenty business days starting from the day following said publication.

The call is based on articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, which require the publication of the summary and the submission of information to the National Grants Database, where the full text is available under reference 931283. Three-year projects and eligible actions

The purpose is to finance multi-year projects with a maximum duration of thirty-six (36) months, structured across the annual periods 26-27, 27-28, and 28-29. The beneficiaries are people with a certified disability degree equal to or greater than 33%, preferably with intellectual, psychosocial, or sensory (auditory and visual) disabilities.

The actions that may be included in the projects are:

• Training and capacity building on the job.
• Vocational guidance.
• Job placement services.
• Employment accompaniment and support.
• Creation of employment opportunities for people with insertion difficulties.

Any of the programmed actions must translate into a better positioning of the participating individuals regarding the labor market, facilitating their access to employment.

Who can apply and under what requirements

Non-profit entities that represent or work with people with intellectual, psychosocial, or sensory disabilities may be beneficiaries, provided they certify their link to this group for at least two (2) years through a certificate issued by the secretary or equivalent body of the entity. Each entity must submit a single multi-year project for three years, detailing the actions by annual period.

The required requirements are:

• Be domiciled in Gran Canaria or have a permanent headquarters on the island, even if its scope of operation is regional or national.
• Be validly constituted and registered in the corresponding public registry.
• Not fall under the circumstances of paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 13 of Law 38/2003.
• Not be subject to debt collection proceedings via executive action with the Cabildo de Gran Canaria or its autonomous bodies.
• Not have received or requested other aid for the same action or the same costs in this annual period.
• Have justified the grants previously awarded by the insular corporation.

Amount, deadline, and information channels

The allocation for the call amounts to 1,350,000 euros. The deadline for submitting applications is twenty (20) business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas.
