El Burgo de Osma announces four academic excellence awards of 750 euros

The City Council of El Burgo de Osma-Ciudad de Osma has announced the Academic Excellence Awards for the 2025/2026 academic year, featuring four awards of 750 euros for the best academic records in Baccalaureate and Higher Level Vocational Training. The call is published as an extract of the Agreement of the Local Governing Board dated September 9, 2026, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria number 108, dated September 16, 2026, with reference BDNS: 928784.

The purpose of the awards is to reward the effort and personal achievement of students residing and schooled within the municipality. Students who have completed their Baccalaureate or Higher Level Vocational Training studies at the local IES Santa Catalina and who continue their education outside the municipality, pursuing university studies or a higher-level training cycle, are eligible to apply.

Requirements to apply for the awards

Students must prove a series of conditions to be eligible for the awards, most notably the minimum grade point average and residency in the municipality:

• To have completed the final year of their studies at IES Santa Catalina.
• To have a grade point average of at least 8.
• Not to have repeated the course qualifying for the award.
• To have passed all subjects.
• To be registered as a resident (empadronado) in El Burgo de Osma-Ciudad de Osma for a minimum of 2 years.
• To provide proof of enrollment during the 2025/2026 academic year in at least one full university degree course or higher-level training cycle at a center outside the municipality.

Deadline and documentation

Applications may be submitted until October 14, 2026, and the deadline period begins the day following the publication of the rules in the official gazette. Submission may be carried out through any of the channels provided for in Article 16 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The documentation to be provided includes:

• Official application form.
• Photocopy of the applicant’s ID (DNI) and, if applicable, that of the legal representative.
• Copy of the official transcript of records from IES Santa Catalina.
• Document proving that the qualifying course was not repeated.
• Certified copy of the official enrollment document for the 2025/2026 academic year.
• Certificate of ownership of the bank account where the prize will be deposited.

Funding and information

The expenditure will be charged to Budgetary Application 2026.326.48000. The full rules of the call are published on the municipal website www.burgodeosma.com (electronic office, Notice Board, Grants and subsidies). The document was signed on September 10, 2026, by the mayor, Antonio Pardo Capilla.

With this initiative, the Burgos city council publicly recognizes the academic effort of local students and supports their continued education outside the municipality, a relevant incentive in a region where educational mobility is common to access higher studies.
