El BOTHA publica las mesas y locales electorales de los 51 municipios alaveses

The Official Gazette of the Historical Territory of Álava publishes today, October 12, 2026, the complete list of sections, polling stations, and electoral venues for the 51 Álava municipalities for the elections to the Congress of Deputies and the Senate on November 29. It is made public by the Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office in Álava, in compliance with Article 24.2 of Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime. The announcement occupies 37 pages of issue number 117 of the gazette and bears the official reference 2026-02870.

The call for elections was approved by Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5 (BOE number 248, of October 6), which dissolved both chambers and set the date for the polls for Sunday, November 29. Since October 12 is a national holiday, the publication in the BOTHA required an extraordinary edition, ordered by Resolution 5128/2026, of October 7, from the Department of Equality, Basque Language, and Governance of the Provincial Council of Álava. The announcement was signed in Vitoria-Gasteiz on October 6, 2026, by the provincial delegate of the Electoral Census Office and is inserted in section III, Other Public Administrations.

Electoral boards already constituted

The same issue of the bulletin completes the arrangement with the constitution of the electoral bodies. The Provincial Electoral Board of Álava is presided over by Elena Cabero Montero, with Jesús Alfonso Poncela García and Ana Jesús Zulueta Álvarez as judicial members, Juan Luis Sanchón Martínez as secretary and Mª Paz Rojo Porras as delegate of the census office (reference 2026-02915). The Zonal Electoral Board of Vitoria-Gasteiz was constituted on October 8 under the presidency of Susana Díez Martínez de la Hidalga, with Jesús de Abajo de Dios and María Luisa Nistal San Juan as members and Cristina Arana Tamayo as secretary (reference 2026-02916).

With this publication, any voter in Álava can now locate their section, their polling station and the school where they are assigned to vote on 11/29, a procedure that electoral law requires to be disseminated before the date and which is decisive in a territory with dozens of small nuclei and administrative boards. The list published today is the official reference against subsequent individual notifications.
