El Bonillo definitively approves its 2026 budget

The El Bonillo City Council has definitively approved the corporation’s general budget for the 2026 fiscal year, a balanced document amounting to 4,761,330.84 euros in both income and expenditures. The agreement, which includes the execution bases and the staff list of civil servants and contractual personnel, has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete, number 97, dated August 21, 2026, in the third section of Local Administration.
The approval is processed in accordance with article 169 of the revised text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, and article 20 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20. The announcement includes the summary by chapters of the income and expenditure budget, as well as the list of job positions of the council.
A balanced budget by chapters
The income budget is primarily supported by direct taxes, which contribute 1,871,037.58 euros, followed by current transfers, with 1,671,540.12 euros, and fees and other income, with 738,388.52 euros. The forecast is completed by indirect taxes (€61,000), patrimonial income (€455,564.62), and capital transfers (€1,800).
On the expenditure side, the most relevant items are:
- Current goods and services expenses: €1,941,125.13
- Personnel expenses: €1,567,342.74
- Current transfers: €598,300.00
- Real investments: €622,562.97
- Capital transfers: €26,000.00
- Financial expenses: €5,000.00
- Contingency fund and other unforeseen events: €1,000.00
Financial operations (financial assets and liabilities) remain at zero, reflecting a budget with no planned indebtedness for the fiscal year.
The personnel staff
The document incorporates the City Council’s personnel staff, which distinguishes between high-ranking officials, career civil servants, and positions reserved for permanent contractual personnel. Among the high-ranking officials with dedicated roles are the mayor, Juan Gil Gutiérrez, and councilors M.ª Teresa Escudero Castellanos, Jesús Antonio Castellanos Mora, María Felicita Moreno Sierra, Rubén Jaén Garrido, and José Antonio Fernández Moya, with partial or full dedications depending on the area.
The career civil servant staff includes positions such as the Secretariat-Intervention Group, administrative staff, administrative assistants, multi-service operators, local administration technicians, and local police, with several vacant positions and others held permanently. Permanent contractual personnel include library assistants, multi-service operators, sports and music instructors, and staff from the Women’s Center and Assisted Living, among others. The total number of staff amounts to 26 positions.
Appeal and validity
An appeal may be filed against the final approval before the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction, in accordance with the requirements, formalities, and grounds set forth in Articles 170 and 171 of the consolidated text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries. The document appears electronically signed.
The publication of the budget is of particular interest to the residents and suppliers of the municipality, as it establishes the expenditure and investment items that will govern municipal activity during 2026 and determines the amounts of the taxes and fees to be applied during the fiscal year.
